I know we need an east-west link of some configuration but a good place to start easing congestion is by making Elliot ave. outside the zoo a four lane road. Ridiculous that all that traffic is funneled into 2 lanes, one in each direction.

Been sayin' it for years.

Once hailed as one of the best planned cities in the world

The city planning of the last decade has been disgraceful.

Andrews will be remembered as the Premier for railways crossings, tunnels and prisons.

That’s laughable without a decent subway system

Yep, the Libs side-letter was the issue.

As for being stuck in traffic, you;d just be stuck in traffic on the East-West Link a year or two after they'd built it.
The side letter was the issue. In the days before the 2014 election, an utterly vindictive government, staring defeat in the face, decided to financially hamstring its successor by guaranteeing the consortium a windfall - the equivalent of what profit it would have made - without the cost of turning one sod of soil. All fine if the money was guaranteed by the Australian Liberal Party. But, of course, us bunnies were the guarantors. One of the most spiteful and questionable acts by a government. Surprised there was not more made of it. The signatory? Michael O'Brien - the then treasurer and now opposition leader.

Kind of agree, but the amount of time the us has been around would barely be a blip on the radar of the longevity of the Roman Empire. Maybe the US post WW2 could be compared to the growth the Romans had after destroying Carthage.

When I was a kid someone said the Roman Empire still rules the world via the Mafia and the Catholic Church.

Just after P2 and the events dramatised in godfather 3. So they were still pretty right.

Excellent.

I'll advise my lawyers that on behalf of my British ancestors they need to inform the Catholic Church to "pay the rent".

Sound ridiculous? Sure is.

Has anyone washed the red dirt from the storm off walls/windows? Does it just wash off with a hose or is high pressure required or something else?

Pool is done..now the rest

Add one part jizz and three parts caustic soda to every thousand parts of water. :thumbsu:

Why wouldn't we? Why should we be help back by frigging troglodytes from NSW and Queensland?

You people have NO IDEA of the change that is coming globally and how hard it is going to smash us if we stay on our current path.

Stupid Victorians are stupid but I agree with the second bit of your post.

Meanwhile our friends in Asian governments plan things 100 years in advance and our Pollys only care about getting re-elected.

Bunch of religious and not so religious but libertarian seppos planned some stuff in the early 70s and it's coming to fruition now as well. They weren't in government then tho.

Can someone explain to me why the Liberal party changed Labour’s roll out of what would’ve provided Australia with top world standard internet, with something that’s obsolete before it’s even finished and given us worse internet then some third world countries?

Cos merdedoch owned Foxtel.

fu**en w***ers only worried about having a surplus budget. Why the fu** does a government need a surplus budget? Is the government a corporate enterprise to make money?

This federal liberal gov is the political wing of News Corp in the same way the ipa is a News Corp think tank.

Automation is our friend here.. the quicker we can move to driverless vehicles the better for traffic.

Did you miss the AI conversation we had a few pages ago, or the one about hacking the current generation of cars.

Yeah that was a dirty act. I don't live in Victoria and have no opinion other than some of the places I've been where the work was done are good.

But I heard about that and thought that campaigner has pulled a swiftly.

Who (ie what individuals had the most money invested) owned the consortium and what relationship do they have with Micheal O'Brien?

I get why people want to clean it out of their pools but honestly who cares if your driveway is a bit redish? The rain will eventually get rid of it.

That was such a disgraceful spiteful political stunt that cost us a huge amount of money. Honestly these politicians make me sick. We paid a foreign company something like $330,000,000 to pull out of that deal. Imagine what that money could do for people that are really battling? Disgraceful

.....ummm dunno where you live but it’s doors, windows, railings, tables, bbqs, outside benches and basically anything facing west or anything that was not covered.

Edit- and it’s not a bit, caked on 1mm deep on some seats
