Dutton 1000% deserved it..

Dutton is a political appointment whose "cancellation" will be determined by his electorate, and not some dictatorial radical political clique.

Dr.Seuss cancelled

Let’s be honest if you agree with historical art and culture being canceled you really haven’t thought very hard about the subject..

Libertarianism is the only sustainable long term answer, but there's always some "Chad" out there who has to dictate their ethical superiority to the world.

Aside from the publisher, who is cancelling dr seuss?

The decision to cease publication and sales of the books was made last year after months of discussion, the company, which was founded by Seuss’ family, told AP.

“Dr. Seuss Enterprises listened and took feedback from our audiences including teachers, academics and specialists in the field as part of our review process. We then worked with a panel of experts, including educators, to review our catalog of titles,” it said.

So the publisher chose to do it, I don't see anywhere there that they were pressured into the act

...........teachers, academics and specialists in the field....................

listen to feedback from the audience is a nice way to say it was ‘gone with the wind’.
typical motherhood statement, my money is on that they are not selling as many copies in this digital day and age with kids eyes glued to tiktok etc so they decided to can it, Rodney Rudes entire back catalog and Romperstomper are still available for what its worth.

get rude on!

...........teachers, academics and specialists in the field....................
Yes but were they consulted by the publisher or did they raise concerns independently

For all we know these particular books just weren't selling

Would you support banning any of these?

It’s been an issue bubbling away and had nothing to do with sales.

“And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street” and “If I Ran the Zoo” are among the titles being dropped.

“These books portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong,” the company said in a statement. “Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ catalog represents and supports all communities and families.”

Using an Australian comedian, to explain away pressure for American cultural destruction is the epitome of gaslightin..

nothing of the kind mate, just pointing out that all that material is still available, could have used Eddie Murphy delerious or Ford Fairlane/andrew dice clay as an example if you have an issue with my reference to Au productions,

EDIT: and fwiw some might consider the term "american culture" a bit of an oxymoron.

you gotta love this pearl of wisdom,
"For example, “And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street” mentions a character who is “described as Chinese has two lines for eyes, carries chopsticks and a bowl of rice, and wears traditional Japanese-style shoes,”

what was he supposed to say, that he had eyes like overcoat buttons???

That’s sort of the point I was making before. Comedians are pushing back against cancel culture. Comedians have a history of paving the way for the fight for free speech. Cops used to wait for Lenny Bruce to say the wrong thing and drag him off stage and arrest him. Carlin too. If Patrice O’Neal were alive today he’d rip this woke shit apart.
