Good luck to Fisher. I don't have high expectation, but he's a mature body in good form.

Would have preferred it if we could have gone for a more like-for-like instead of shuffling deck chairs but it is what is is.

Blamires a bit stiff, Coop would probably have required a couple more positional changes. They were the only other probable ins. Whichever option we went with, we were never going to be able to cover the injury satisfactorily

Other than Freo’s key forward threat, Murphy Reid looms large playing high as a forward. On paper, it looks like it might be a Daniel v Reid match up which worries me. If Reid plays high and Caleb roles back as the +1 we are ****ed. Makes the Fisher inclusion more puzzling. Blamires would have been ideal as a defender/tagging option on Reid.

A minor flogging, they’ll score around 140 unfortunately. But some minor wins we can aim for:

• Simpkin showing he’s an elite midfielder
• Fisher showing he’s AFL wing worthy
• Forward half pressure. Duurs with two tackles?
• Kerch moving the ball forward instead of sideways
• Our centre clearance has been crap since the ruck rule change

It’s also shaping up to be a sheezel 40+ game

We'll be in this for a while, I reckon. They aren't that good on-paper sans Serong, we could very well run over the top again.
