Great win in Archer's 250th. Favourite come back.

So the 1996 game at Princes Park was my first ever game of football.
Paul Roos 300th game. Plugger kicked 10. We got revenge in the grand final but they belted us that day.

And you just made realise that I have never seen us beat Sydney live. All our wins have been in NSW.
I was at the Drawn game in 2008 at Docklands. But never seen a win.

In fact unless you attended the game at the MCG in 1998 or the game at the Telstra Dome in 2007 - these are the only 2 home and away games in Melbourne we have beaten Sydney. Grim.
I was at that game. He had one to halftime, went nuts in the second half

I'm old enough to have seen us beat South Melbourne live, let alone Sydney.

1978 at Waverley
1979 at Arden St
1980 at Arden St
1981 at Arden St

I never saw us beat them live at Lake Oval. But we did knock them off in their last game ever there. So **** 'em.

Pretty sure he kicked 8 in 2nd half, most in 3rd qtr. Honestly one of the most awesome things I have seen live. Remember Mick had given up and did a chimpanzee impersonation on the mark at one point.

The MCG game in 98 was the day Carey kicked a set shot from the wrong pocket for a right footer with Dunkley about 55m out. Also the day McCartney transitioned from whipping boy to possible CHB.

My wife has never seen us beat Sydney live, we sat through both Sydney final losses didnt go to the win, have watched a few SCG home and away losses including the Lindsay game, Drew kicking the ball sideways 10 m.

Wife cant make it tomorrow so we might be a chance.

I watched this game on our wooden-veneer TV (Panasonic I'd say) as a youngster. Kerry Good kicked 7. We had the tv in our lounge room and I think we had visitors that day, so I kept wandering in to see the updated score. Good times! 🥹👵

who is our matchup for papley and rosas?

zurhaar and lmac?
daniel?

this is when i wish hardeman was in the side
So now you rate Rosas? You didn't want a bar of him when RFO8, myself and others suggested him as a trade target.
One of your more bizarre dislikes of a player who had obvious crumbing talent.

We’ll always have the 40 point 3/4 time comeback in Archer’s 250th.
The Corey Jones game where their trainer suffered a massive heart attack in the last quarter and the Swans basically stopped.

Dani Laidley on Corey McKernan after the game:

"I spoke to Corey on Monday and said basically you've got four weeks to decide what you want to do with your career," Laidley said of the club's dual premiership player.

"One performance tonight still doesn't prove anything to me. He played really well and I'm rapt for him. He's now got three weeks of the home-and-away season to perform or he's got a pretty harsh decision to make - it's as simple as that

I always tell family how much I hate Essendon for the obvious reasons, but damned if thinking about it I can't ****ing stand the Swans the most. The anti North. A team of cowards that knifed their own club, ran away only to spend the last couple of decades crowing on about how their bloods spirit sees them fight to the end. Sold out their supporters to live a proud nepo baby lifestyle in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney and whinging about not getting quite enough free hits from head office.

I hope they all get diarrhea tonight and lose by 300 points. The video of Heeney crying will surely be worth it.

That Carey goal was unreal. Was off the back of a free kick from Dunkley smashing him in the back of the head (he was reported for it too). Duck was livid with him. Took a while to gather himself before unloading probably the longest drop punt goal I ever saw from him. Was massive.

I mean look at this shit. It cleared Greg Stafford on the goal line.

Some of the more rotten ones…
Interchange-gate
Extra player-gate
Lindsay/Rohan-gate, not Lindsay Lohan…
Aliir/Majak-gate
Damm. Forgot about interchange gate.

Pretty sure there was a Shannon Motlop high free on Creswell back in the day. Goal after the siren?

As a youngish fella back then, that stung. Was a dangerous night to be VB and a cannie.

Reckon you've about nailed it.

Was sitting level four right above it.

Absolute vivid football memory.

I recall the atmosphere at that game was off the charts.

Saturday will be massive if we're a sniff. Faithful were up and about against the Blue, had a few weeks away from our spiritual home, so should be on like Donkey Kong against one of our most hated rivals.
