Election coming > Barnaby and the Nats. now 100% behind net-zero emissions by 2050 ( in principle )
I'm not sure that is an election winner - it was an election loser for Labor last time. Will be interesting to see how the incumbents handle this. No party ever seems to be able to provide those details - how will it impact the average household?

"Ayy it's easy to get 5 properties in your portfolio, all on your own! Just have family secure your deposit with their collateral!"
Ffs

Meanwhile I'll probably need a deposit the size of his first home total value 🙄

The best part of that article is that he still lives at home in the garage, so really he owns absolutely **** all.

“How’d you do it”?

“Mum and dad are loaded”

Yeah lol, it gets funnier as you go along
*1st home - funded by dad
*2nd home - went in with sister and got first home owners grant
*Renting them all out, with 26k profit annually (?)
*Contributing heavily to the inflation of the housing market

But the absolute best part is the last quote
“I find it devastating to think people are ‘complaining’ how difficult it is to buy into today’s market. For young people out there, anything is possible.”

Get absolutely ***ked campaigner.
I don't usually wish anybody ill will with making it in the world but with that perception from a position of privilege, I would be interested to check in on him in a few years when interest rates give him a little tickle.

I didnt think you could claim first home owners if you were renting it out.
At least for the first year.

When interest rates rise, and the value of the property stagnates....

It's in NSW-
The First Home Owner Grant is only available for an owner occupied home — not an investment property. However, in some states like NSW, you only need to live in the property for six continuous months before you can rent it out.

She’s an attractive articulate young black woman who found a niche around the time Trump kicked off his political stuff as a mouthpiece for the right wing/conservatives . She denies structural racism in the US which is handy considering my above description of her. She thinks climate change is a hoax for no reason she can actually explain, got completely destroyed when she went on JRE by Rogan. The clips on YouTube it’s both embarrassing and funny because it becomes obvious that she has no idea what she’s talking about. She was only in her mid 20’s then though.

Hate to say it but she’s basically token black person that some people can use and point to and say “see we’re not racist, listen to this lady”. Kind of like that indigenous man we have here who’s name escapes me or the bloke who calls himself the Inman of peace,Mohammad Tawhidi.

Long story short, she’s a moron and being used and making a lot of money doing it somehow.

So their version of Rita Panahi then.

How funny that the woman that organised the protest at Netflix has been outed as racist against Asians. These people really have zero awareness.

Personally I wouldn’t be bothered by the stuff she tweeted but if you’re going to be a puritan you better be pure.

What a vile piece of work. Some people deserve to be cancelled: Your honour exhibit A.

Doubt she’ll get cancelled at all tbh, it’s just hilarious to pretend to be all about caring about people when all she was doing was clout chasing. I actually wonder if any of them watched the special because if they did they completely missed the point. It’s gotten more media attention then it deserves, like 7 employees walked out, yet there’s massive strikes going on across America.

There’s seafarers that have been stuck at sea without pay for such a long time they’ve missed most of the pandemic. They can’t afford to abandon ship because it’s their only collateral.

Cancel culture has cancelled itself. The media just pump these stories up because it gets clicks. I shouldn’t add to that but I love stand up comedy.

I’m so used to it now…. Ugh

He’s crushing it at the moment. His shows can be a bit boring at times depending on the guest but his good is top shelf.
I haven't really watched anything he's done till Chad caled him a wellness Nazi.

I knew he was a former junkie who got his shit together after doing transcendental meditation. But he seems to have got it together in a good way.

Anyway they are calling what he is talking about "The Great Resignation".

Basically all over the US (and other parts of the world people are jack of neo liberalism^ - ie no pay rises while everything else gets more expensive,) and consumerism in general. And after being locked down for alot of the last 18 months while surrounded by death, people don't want to go back to being wage slaves. There were anti austerity and general anti government protests across the planet in 2019, alot of people were jack of it. And alot of the anti vaccine mandate stuff is tied in to that as well. On top of that far right groups are looking at this discontent as potential recruiting grounds.

Throughout history pandemics have changed the world. The end of feudalism was assisted by the plagues of the middle ages, cois suddenly labour became a valuable commodity as working age people died off left right and centre. Some people trace the start of the workers rights movements that ended in unionism as we knew it all the way back to the demand for labour following the plagues in Europe.

^Yes I am banging on about that again. SimpkinByTheDockOfTheBay and I were both speculating on the end of neo liberalism as this pandemic kicked off.
