For a different thing though. He’s a convicted felon and wasn’t allowed to have the gun. Dude shot at police in a raid and got off on self defence.

It’s obvious that the real problem is the amount of guns they have in the US, but they’re not coming back from that.
Police raids in the US are like that tho. Half the reason BLM is a thing is cos of those no knock raids. Its standard practise to kick the door in first and present the warrant later. They obviously didn't find drugs (presuming its a drug raid, no knock raids are used for presumed armed gang members) there or we wouldn't have heard about it and he would have been done for murder.

Put yourself in his position. You've asleep and hear a loud bang and campaigners running around your house. If you're armed you'll shoot back.

They haven't knocked on the door and presented a warrant, or even rung him told him they have him surrounded, have a warrant to search the place and if he doesn't open the front door they are coming in with machine guns. Which they could do these days if they wanted to avoid chaos.

fu** knows mate. My take on conspiracies is that if it involves more then a handful of people who are still alive then they’ll get found out.
FTFY

These days who'd believe anyone anyway? Everything is partisan.

You don't need to do too much to stoke the fires in this case tho, just a couple of agent provacateurs and maybe one person on the inside in that citizens militia, not even planning anything just identifying the loose cannons and priming them for violence. It happened all the time after 9/11. The vast majority of those Muslim terror plots were young people with mental health or cognition problems who were goaded into action then busted by the people goading them. Once upon a time entrapment wasn't on but that changed after 9/11.

That's not even a conspiracy as such, just cops and feds justifying their budgets.

What the fu** is going on with Australia Post? It seems like their job now is to ring your doorbell, immediately sprint to the van and floor it before you can even stand up, and not even leave the little "come collect your parcel" paper slip anymore. Is it a lack of funding? Are they trying to make everyone hate the public postal system so they can privatise it without anyone minding?

They're too busy for courtesies. My son ran into a postie mate of his and was told that ,for the last few months, every day is like the week before Christmas

I just saw this lol

yeah, i have enormous sympathy for the actual workers doing deliveries, they're obviously not being given enough time to do the job properly and that's an organisational failure

Its the old contract out to the lowest tender race to the bottom. The actual auspost posties are pretty good but they are limited to what fits in the electric bikes or the supercubs. The rest go to the mail contractors.

Yeah I’ve seen some stuff. Loads of people genuinely believe he shot black people purely because of the narrative.

Then there’s people saying Rittenhouse would’ve gotten life if he was black, but on the same day as Rittenhouse’s verdict a black dude named coffee IV was found not guilty on two murder charges and there’s no noise about it.

Not familiar with that one. I'm more annoyed by the timothy simpkins incident. School shooting. 3 injured. 1 critically. Out in 1 day and only 75k jail. The mainstream narrative is he was bullied and had mental health issues. The columbine kids were bullied...i hope bullying isn't used in this case and it decreases his sentence otherwise we could see an increase in the US with mental health being used as an excuse.

In a complete lack of awareness his family posted pics of him with a cake celebrating his release from custody...if you just shot 3 people (1 still in critical condition at the time) and you're claiming bullying and mental health issues, maybe don't post pics like that on the internet.

Post won't be privatised now, though it was well on the way. The Holgate affair has finally brought some scrutiny to the board. Blokes are flat out, so they have their skates on. Covid protocols have minimalized the the actual interaction with the customer, and the customer should not be touching the scanner. A lot also depends on the person, whether they are happy to be on their way, or to make sure somebody is home or not. A lot also depends on whether they are Corporate staff or contractors. But if you need an air fryer, they're the blokes to ask 🙃

Nah I get it. That’s why I said it’s a gun problem. Everyone over there is presumed armed.

That’s nothing new though. Person gets picked on, person retaliates. Then they pay for their retaliation. Don’t see why the courts would except bullying as a defence.

Totally agree about the gun problem. I thought I'd commented about the bolded bit when I quoted you but I didn't. Meant to say this is the issue.

The sherrrff in the case GG is referring to explicitly said bullying wasn't a factor in the shooting.

I dunno personally if there are any differences between non fatally shooting people with a handgun that could be as weak as .32 calibre (ie its a 50% chance of bouncing off unprotected skin) in a fight (we don't know how powerful it was do we?) and walking around a volatile situation with an assault rifle then killing two people with it. There might be some difference in the two situations but i'm struggling to see it.

I actually think the most disturbing thing about that story is the guy's name.

Yeah the difference is one was self defence. The other was not.

One was protecting his community. The other was not.

One was threatened by a domestic abuser, a paedophile that r*ped a young boy, and another criminal. The other shot a kid and a teacher.

It’s just one case after another after another. Someone wrote in here ages ago that all this American stuff is exhausting. I’m starting to feel that too.

Their news dwarfs everything but it’s insignificant compared to what’s happening around the world. The unrest in Sudan, Gaddafi’s son entering into Libya politics, Modi backflipping on the farming thing, the Chinese government holding their best tennis player because she came out about sexual assault, the situation with refugees going from Belarus to Poland…and on and on

But for some bloody reason it’s the yanks that get our attention. Has to be the movies and music.

I had to become a Karen and blast my local post office about fake deliveries. My computer is in a room with a giant window that faces the front door (and my mailbox) and they can't see in but I can see when these morons come with pre-filled in cards and just go straight to the mailbox instead of the front door.

That was the last time they did that to me, every other package since then has come to my door.

I hate to be a pita, but if i wanted shit delivered to my post office I would expect to be charged a lot less since it is half the service.

I wish they wouldn't pretend. I don't mind a walk down to the post office, I'd much rather they take it straight there and send me an SMS when it's in, so I can come and get it sooner.

Also, not really fair to call them morons. If they're not being given adequate time to do the entire job, it's not their fault.

I’m watching Michael Che’s special at the moment. It sucks. He’s definitely funny and has good insight but he doesn’t have the zero ****s given to be a top comedian.
