States should sign the treaties. Its the only way it really works imo. When that happens tho ... well it'll be after i'm dead.

In the backwards convict state of NSW perhaps, down here Treaty will be happening quite soon.

So the Coast Guard knew that the sub had imploded within hours, but they let this whole media circus run for days.

Clear distraction imo, from a whole range of things from Hunter Biden stuff to Ukraine.

Wouldn't know a Taylor Swift song if it bit me on the bum. $400 for a concert ticket ? Ridiculous.

Slade, 1974 Festival Hall - $3.50. Good rocking night too 👍

Music has died if this is normal.
Slade played 9 songs, 4 of which were covers.

Taylor Swift does around 44 songs, no covers.

And the production is on another planet. Average price for the biggest pop star on the planet is around $150-$200. That's pretty good, tbh.

NSW isn't the only backwards state I was talking about.

But you never know. Things might change once the Victorians do it. Might break a metaphorical dam wall.

It wasn't the 'coast guard' that detected the potential implision. The US DoD knew that an implosion may have occured, but couldn't guarantee what it was, and didn't want to discourage or interfere with rescue attempts in the interim.

Not everything is a conspiracy or related to the culture wars.

What happened to you, man? You used to be semi-normal.

Yes, it was Coast Guard that did the presser re the debris field, apologies, it would be USN that detected the implosion.

That part of the world is very heavily surveilled and the US would have known almost immediately what happened to the sub.

Decisions on revealing that info would have been filtered through a whole range of lenses, safety of those on board being well down the list l9l.

Nothing happened to me btw, I've always been like this.

What happened to you? You used to ve halfway smart, now you post stuff about worrying anti Western sentiment ffs.

The US Navy detected an 'anomaly'. They immediately passed the info on to the Coast Guard who were coordinating S+R efforts. The Titan imploding was one (of several) possibilities for what the anomaly detected could have been, but it was far from conclusive.

It wasn't until the debris field was found that they concluded that the anomaly detected was likely the Titan imploding.

It is a sad, sad thing that anyone's brain would immediately go to "this is some sort of Biden/Ukraine conspiracy!" based on this info. But I suppose that is at least one (tiny) level above this:

I don't think they 'knew' anything though - jumping the gun and saying that was the result without real confirmation would not of benefitted anyone - if anything just has the potential to lessen the efforts to find them

Exactly. Ukraine, Blackrock etc.

Lot of contracts being signed with Ukraine. Rebuilding and huge projects slated to start in Q3.

I assume that's a clear sign that the war will be ending soon.

You can guess which country signed all the contracts too...

Bingo.

Imagine thinking the news is the news and they have our best interests at heart.

I'm sure the same people think the annual Bilderberg meetings are just a collection of like minds catching up tea and scones.

Shake it off there Hojuman

Now, look what you made me do

You really do inhabit some West Wingesque media driven version of the United States don't you. Look, it is completely understandable and hugely common.

You consume so much US media around the football team you're into that its impossible for that stylised version not to seep into your brane.

But this isn't about any particular US evil or conspiracy, its just what governments do.

Our own governments here have been very happy to lie, mislead, create whole cloth fictions about stuff happening at sea to create distractions from their problems in case you've forgotten

And all governments love a good media friendly crisis like this when things are going shit. Who can forget the Blair staffer who emailed her colleagues on the morning of 9/11 about it being a good day to bury bad news.

This one was manna from heaven for the US govt, and them allowing DoD to report on day 1 that they'd detected (and we'll go with your touchingly CJ Cregg version here) "anomalies" would have made it a very very different story.

Man, you're pathetically transparent.

It's really quite hilarious.

I don't know what specifically broke your brain over the past few years - normally I'd say 'Covid' as that is the usual suspect of late. But given your job, I'd say that's unlikely.
