From memory Lakes have regulated for transportable only homes at coastal fringe/sea level. They know change is coming.
My parents have a house they inherited at McLoughlans beach, backing onto a low level mangrove swamp and they recently extended it.
They had to go split level, as the Council required all new extensions and buildings to have certain foundations and height from sea level.
Water sometimes reaches the back yard. Always has. Like maybe once a year. Not enough to kill the grass.
The highest we remember is when it was under the house one year in the 70s and your feet got wet at the doorstep. Though i don't really remember it.
