And interestingly, Lion is owned by Kirin.

https://lionco.com/about-us/our-history/2000s

Phenomenal the amount of small companies owned by bigger companies owned by bigger companies owned by bigger companies owned by bigger companies owned by an even bigger head company!

I'm still trying to get my head around it.

Just like LVMH owns Moët, Veuve, Krug, Dom Perignon, Ruinart champagne companies.... So if your missus has expensive taste, it doesn't really matter what brand you choose, as the same company wins ;)
Here is a good chart for you to try and get your head around.

Interesting the Mondelez name in the line up of companies in your chart. Kraft broke their company in two after taking over Cadbury, to dairy and chocolate/confectionery companies. They spent months and a huge amount of money coming up with the new name. They created the name Mondelez out of a combination of the latin words for world and delicious.

After they released the new name and rebranding worldwide, with great fanfare, it quickly came out that the new made up name Mondelez sounded very, very, close to a vulgar Russian word for a sex act. Too late to change, they continue to have jokes made at their expense. ie Fxxxing Cadbury etc

United Technologies Corporation?

Edit: In 2013 made over $US62 Billion in revenue

In essence they basically run countries and provide everything from military equipment to basic contracting services. For instance they own Chubb security here which is used in our jails, vaults etc

We're getting a bit off topic with this company owning company stuff... but I read recently that ~40% of transaction happen with companies and subsidiaries. They do this to avoid tax (most developed countries are trying to prevent companies from doing this now) and tariff barriers. That is why we see so many big companies owning smaller ones now days.

Wholesome marketing messages deconstructed for the true believers.

Saints & synergies ............. just think St Nick, women and "milky goodness”.

Congratulations to Nick and Catherine on the new baby. :)

A most unflattering dress

Oh, I don't know. The colouring's great - the blue goes with her eyes, the cream compliments her hair, thus framing the whole thing. I don't like the front lift in the dress, it's not very complimentary, but hey, that's probably me being conservative in my tastes. The belt strap bit is a bit too thick, perhaps. But hey.

Lucky she managed to pick up that blonde fella, seeing as she's failing to impress you two stud muffins ;):p

She could wear a potato sack and I would still be head over heels. What a stunner!

She doesn't need to wear anything to impress me

Nah, we're not talking about Catherine - we're talking about the dress, from a technical perspective. Catherine is, of course, a beautiful young woman, as they are beautiful young couple.

Actually, Joffaboy 's point is that it is an unflattering dress, which means it doesn't do justice or detracts from her beauty, rather than compliments or highlights it. It's not about her, it's about the dress.

Technically, the best dress Catherine ever wore publicly was the one for the 2011 Brownlow:

That was awesome - she does flowing, Greco-Roman dresses REALLY well (there's even hints of that in the blue one we were talking about. The belt nails it, too, as do all the accessories. Given that it was the Brownlow - a red carpet notorious for being the epitome of "you can't buy class" - this is the antithesis of that. Just radiates fine taste and class.

The only flaw here was the severe lack of jewellery on the fingers here - but Roo fixed that up soon enough. ;)

I was of course being just a little bit sarcastic gents ;)

Lots of sports people trying their careers at politics after retirement. Another one is Adam Goodes.

I guess if he enters politics then lots of staging will be involved off the field and pointing innocent 12 years old for rude comments.
