I absolutely agree that division and conflict makes the league thrive. I love antagonism, I love watching villains drive people into complete meltdowns. Not so much when it's the same conflict for 6 months though. When I say come together I don't mean get in a circle, hold hands, sing kumbaya kind of thing. I mean that both groups should agree that this is becoming a bit shit and move on. Because I get the impression that the majority involved aren't really having fun arguing about. Allow some new more interesting conflicts to arise.

I'm not sure if we drive the Boys Club out it would resolve the issue because I think it runs deeper than that. If there's no Boys Club we'll take notice of other groups that are just as chummy. The Gentlemen's Club PM I've been told has over 200+ pages, we would need to drive them out next, then perhaps go after the Uncle Tony's House inhabitants who reside in the club room. The majority of this league belong to some kind of clique, in my view the league needs to judge people on the merits of what they post instead of the group they associate with. We need to create conflict between individuals, then the concept of cliques and clubs will disappear and the league will return to its 'glory days'.

Spot on. This place used to be mate against mate. Where you'd see players move to different clubs to create that animosity and fire up against each other.

Now they all go to the same few clubs and suck each others dicks.

Boring.

I tried at the wolves but it was such an ugly place.

To be fair, the Warriors pioneered this

You literally have a team filled with posters from the Bay :drunk:

LGs should be banned. They're a clique.
So should team PM's; in fact, all convos with more than 3 people could be considered a clique...

Let's face it, most of us are in groups, chats, convos or alliances. The only rivalries that matter are the teams.

I've never seen Bostrich in the Bay.
You do realise that that's not what he meant right?

You have a group of posters who have interacted with each other on a separate area of the site for years in some cases (aka "mates"), joining the same team. Why don't they all join different teams and banter against each other?

I'm sure that quite a few Bay posters don't actually play for the Warriors and some of those original Warriors players have found homes elsewhere.

I believe the point FR was making was that players who have made friends from within the SFA have suddenly decided to leave where the were to join their mates side.

It's called the Fighting Furies Reserves Effect

The team I recruited to begin with was made up of largely Essendon and Geelong supporters with the idea being that it didn't matter what had been said on the Bay, we'd all team up in the Sweet FA. We weren't mates and we never PM'ed each other. We just posted random shit on here.

Meanwhile, the BC have spread themselves through 3 or 4 clubs and suck each other off. The nWo and the Hawks recruitment is two examples - both led by Mr No Team Left Behind who's seen just about every team left behind.

Is it a prerequisite of the Royals captain to be an unfunny, do nothing clown? Another club that's about as inspiring as beige underpants.

I'm not in, nor have I ever been in a meaningful chat other than my LG, which is made up of people from my team who I have no association with outside of this site.

I play this while I'm at work.

If I wanted to banter with my actual friends, I'd go down the pub or play golf with them like I do when I'm not at work.

They're not 'mates', mates are people I know irl who I associate with in person.

Myself, Marlowe and Nakia would have more MVP votes than you entire side combined, so I would take my beige underpants over your brown ones.

The considerable majority of Bay posters do play for the Warriors, and the couple that I can think of that don't started there originally before branching out.

There is clearly a shift towards players moving to be with mates, however it's not just isolated towards the BC (Furies + Tigers fans, Warriors + Bay posters, Swamprats + Port/Sydney fans) and it's certainly not as big of a deal as it's made out to be. I can almost guarantee players will move away from their mates just as quickly as they have gravitated towards them. It's the nature of the competition, especially with favoured positions being highly competitive. I don't think external interference is necessary for that reason, and instead the onus should be on the posters complaining to create rivalries and interest in their own way rather than taking the easy way out by simply complaining about it.

I think DapperJong and BigJoeD_ might be the only two Bay based ex-Warriors posters to be extracted from that team in the history of their club.

Welcome to the 21st century, where people can be mates and associate online despite not living in the same town or city.
