My focus, however, is to grow the league - no push clubs into mergers.

Funny how the Admin is talking about mergers when the 'league is fine' apparently/ Don't you find that funny? I find it funny.

No, I insinuated nobody wanted to join the Warriors. As their captain I would assume your sole concern is the list you have, especially as I've not seen any other captains complain about their lists. All seem very content with their lot but of course that sudden exodus we've been told about has so far yielded one player leaving. There has to be an explanation why this particular angle is a big deal for you.

As the captain of my club I operate the same way and seek to bring in players I would enjoy playing with, ones I think are a fit, ones I think might be bored stuck in the same place and ones I know will contribute so yes, you have been a target of mine in the past. I am always actively recruiting as season to season no team is ever perfect. I'm not the admin any more though, I'm the Hawks captain and they are first and foremost my concern.

There is no talk of mergers. I don't know where that has come from more than a joke in the past that people may have taken seriously. But if there is then those clubs and their leadership is the biggest concern.

The considerable majority of Bay posters do play for the Warriors, and the couple that I can think of that don't started there originally before branching out.

There is clearly a shift towards players moving to be with mates, however it's not just isolated towards the BC (Furies + Tigers fans, Warriors + Bay posters, Swamprats + Port/Sydney fans) and it's certainly not as big of a deal as it's made out to be. I can almost guarantee players will move away from their mates just as quickly as they have gravitated towards them. It's the nature of the competition, especially with favoured positions being highly competitive. I don't think external interference is necessary for that reason, and instead the onus should be on the posters complaining to create rivalries and interest in their own way rather than taking the easy way out by simply complaining about it.

I know none of my Furies team mates off BF.

The Furies have been involved in this forum in one way or another for over 20 seasons, yet we are the only club now that still has ties to it's first season.
We should definitely change that.

I'm not saying that at all, in fact I'm not the one with any issue here at all. If the Furies want to recruit Tigers fans, go for it. Whatever strategy each club wants to employ is their own prerogative, it is not and should not be mine or anyone else's place to dictate where players should be.

If the issue is the BC grouping together in a few teams then I suspect the issue will resolve itself in time, probably soon. It won't be long before they get bored of their environment, docile match threads and seek rivalries by moving to weaker clubs when better positional offers come knocking. I'd expect some significant list changes before next season. That's how the league equalises itself.
