Just going through 2 old team photos.

What was everyone's rating of the following players::

  • Adam White
  • Trent Hoppner
  • Damian Lock
  • John Hynes
  • Simon Flecther
  • Sam Smart
  • Ed Goold
  • Heath Culpitt
  • Murray Vance
  • Ian Prendergast

I thought Prendergast was ok and i thought Hoppner was going to be good. Pity he had to retire.

I thought Lock was going to make it as a player. Had a clean pair of hands, but then again I thought Trent Sporn was going to make it as well.

Vance had the talents, but didn't have the right attitude.

I thought Adam White was a fair player. He certainly had a good leap on him and could find the ball. The problem was that he came along at a time when we had better players to fill the same roles.

Damian Lock had one good year where he played a fair few games. looked ok, but never quite made it.

Simon Fletcher gave good service. Played some good games and was a decent depth player.

Both of them were rookie or supplemetry list players so gave good value. Always kept an eye on Fletcher coz he took Whitehead's (my favorite player) place on the list after his last game aginst North.

Fletcher was the only one out of that group that came to play. I'll never forget that game against the Bombers in 2001, where Fletch played a good game and took a great mark to seal the game. Dermie was saying during the call something about putting a plaque up in the rooms because it was such a great win. If I'd only understood the pain to come....sigh.

Adam White - Not bad could potentially get a game now
Trent Hoppner
Damian Lock - Did not fire a shot
John Hynes - Who?
Simon Flecther - Struggled at Richmond says it all. He was ok overhead but had no awarness
Sam Smart - Didn't fire a shot
Ed Goold - Didn't fire a shot
Heath Culpitt
Murray Vance - How we picked this guy is beyond me, top 10 pick who was supposed to be a tall and from day 1 I looked at him and said this must be a joke... worse version of Luke L
Ian Prendergast - Was not bad. Would of been very handy in a good side as a utility type.

Bret Backwell , for me the one that got away was Brett Backwell he had little chance when we had a gun side, I reckon he would of been a very handy player for us in the last few years.

Do you have any idea what you are talking about?

Hello! Whatever tickles your pickle i suppose.

Cereally though, Fletch, Preda and White were all 'decent' depth players at our club with only Fletch being good enough to play semi regular footy in a relatively strong Carlton line-up. White and Prenda were good athletes with ordinary disposal. The rest on that list were about as useful as **** on a bull.

how about

  • Chris Jackson
  • Andrew Balkwill(sp?)
Wasn't Chris Jackson from Hay in NSW?

I have no idea who Ed Goold is. :o

Balkwill debuted in that M & M with Nelson and didn't play again. :)

How can you forget Daniel Marshall, Adrian Burdon, Michael James and David Walls?

Callan Beasy deserved to make it with a name as good as that. :thumbsu: :(

Michael James was known for standing on a table and relieving himself.

Interesting skill. Although no help to an ailing footy side, whatsoever.

He could have been anything. Too bad he was homesick, he was a gun.
