Interested to hear people's thoughts on my team after looking at completing two trades already this week (depending on teams) but wondering people's thoughts on my strategy.

Current Squad (after Trades):

DEF: Deledio, Goddard, Scotland, Waters, Hargrave, Heppell, Bugg (Ellis, Smedts)
MID: Murphy, Swan, Selwood, Goodes, Magner, McDonald (Ablett, Shiel)
RUCK: Cox, Giles (Redden, Stephenson)
FWD: Franklin, Riewoldt, Martin, Smith, Kennedy, Porplyzia, Treloar (Milera, Hall)

Traded out Dickson for Treloar, and Wingard () for McDonald.

Have $69,400 available and 20 Trades.

Planning over the next three weeks to downgrade two or three of: Smith, Kennedy, Treloar, Milera, Hall, Shiel, Magner, McDonald.

By this point Ablett will be back in my Midfield, and I can look at upgrading Magner to Stanton/Boyd giving me a full premium midfield or try and upgrade someone from my forward lines - but cant really see anyone sticking out.

Most likely 3-4 (for LTI's) as I would have done all my upgrading by then. I know most people like to leave at least 6 trades for LTI's, but I do like to live on the edge.

Can someone explain how the captains loophole still works this year? I thought they fixed that this year, and you weren't able to select/change your VC after the partial lockout was in effect.

Lets make this week an example.

You set VC on Swan/Pendles/Stanton etc.

Lets say you have Ablett who isn't playing this week, you keep him on your field and set him as your Captain. Make sure you set an emg on your bench to cover for Ablett's 0.

If you are happy with what your VC scores, you leave it as it is, otherwise if you are not happy, switch the Captaincy over to anyone other than a Coll/Ess player (i.e Boyd).

Make Ablett Captain, put the V/C on Swan/Pendles or Stanton and make someone like Magner emergency. if you like the score that your Ess/Coll V/C made, then leave the V/C tag with them. If you don't, then make another player the V/C.

So it doesn't mean the emergency covering Ablett would take on the captaincy mantle? That's what I was unsure of. If not, sounds simple enough.

No, captaincy stays on Ablett, the emg will just cover his 0. Your VC is there to cover the capatincy mantle.

What should I do with Greene? Is he likely to play again any time soon? He was scoring well for a while there. Trade him for another rook eg. Jmac before his price rise or not?

Tomas Bugg, Grant Birchall, Adam Kennedy, Aaron Hall, Devon Smith

I ask because I have Smedts and Paine. If smedts misses it doesn't matter but need to decide whether to bench Paine forward or back.
