Lucas' footskills or footysmarts don't come anywhere near Scotland's.
JR maybe more suited to that role but not Lucas.
I see lucas as a winger or HF.

While Lucas is not blessed with amazing footskills, he has heaps of footy smarts.

You see Lucas playing as a winger, well Scotland spent a HEAP of time on the wing. I can see Lucas playing the wing and HF like you said while JR can play the wing and HBF.

As for Scotlands foot skills, he does bomb the ball a little, so he is not up there with Yarran.

I suspect that Clarke will have a better career than McLean has had with us, but I wouldn't be calling him the second coming for Melbourne either.

I just don't trust him as a player and it will be interesting as to how Melbourne slots him into their forward structure.

Watts looked twice the player ar CHB this year. He (clark) will slot straight into FF and I think he could be a gun for them.

He is more likely to capture his 2009 form than is Brock. He played in a shit team, with a bad coach, and no interest. I tip Melbourne to be a big improver under a new coach, and new footy department. In a good team, Clark would be the 45+ goal key forward we covet.

And even though he is on 50% more than Brock, he would definitely be in our 22, and be the big option we needed up forward. I would gladly pay the extra 200k to have a potential team changer, rather than 400k for a bloke to kill in in the VFL. I know hindsight is 20/20, but there were plenty of warning signs when the trade went down. It can only go down as a massive failure of our football department, and has significantly hindered us making money plays for big players since then.

Not that we had a chance to get MC after Icke left.

I think you're as blind as a bat if you think Watts is a spud. I look forward to him proving you and the rest of the AFL wrong. People expect way too much from young tall players.

The club managed to pick up Laidler whilst losing Grigg's contract.

There were no big names available this week bar Clark, yet you think Icke leaving and signing Mclean may have cost us his services. Carlton didn't have the players and picks to get Clark across. We enter the draft at 22. Nonsense that Mclean has cost us another top ten player. I don't know if supporters of the Dogs, North and Essendon are bemoaning the fact that Clark didn't choose them. They're the ones who should be annoyed at missing out on a tall forward/ruck. Dogs should have gone hard after they lost Hall.
