Sounds dodgy as **** if you ask me
ESANDA and dodgy are fairly closely related.

Unfortunately the repo guy convinced them to hand over the keys. Fairly standard stuff - a tow truck appears first thing in the morning when you're getting ready for work to catch you off guard. That process in itself is dodgy, but once you hand over the keys you're ****ed.

ACA can be their friend.

And I'm only half joking
This, take some hand-held amateur footage of a loud verbal confrontation and tell them the story and they'd pounce on it. No footage, no coverage is their policy.. No shit. This is pretty much their only purpose - "public" pressure (read: nobody gives a shit, but still).

I never figured to raise it in a public forum before, but has anybody here had any experience with superannuation and deceased estates?

I have a Superannuation holding accounts statement from the ATO re: my father who passed away in 2000 and has some spare change tied up somewhere in the clutches of the ATO's basement. From my VERY limited knowledge on the matter - if there was no existing will and testament at the time of death, the children of the deceased are entitled to the super? But I've tried to discuss over the phone with the ATO and as you might expect - you might as well be calling trying to sell them cheap insurance as they're that interested to help you.

Has anybody experienced a situation like this that might be able to shed some light on the subject?

We went through the super thing after my Mum died but it's all a bit of a blur now, even though it was only a few years ago. But we went through the super companies direct and the ATO only got involved when it was their turn to take their 40% cut.

So that wasn't much help at all, sorry.

Cheers, I have no bloody idea what his super company was, I doubt he did either going by the amount in it. I've just tried one of those lost super website so we'll see how that goes and i'll try from there.

Just don't get one of those money finding agents involved, they will take a huge chunk to do what you can do yourself. Dealing with the ATO will be lengthy and frustrating, but not much you can do about that.

I was executor for a friend and dealt directly with his super fund.Don't remember it being particularly protracted or tortuous and they sent his funds to me.

Yeah I take it, if there was actually an executor for the estate it would've actually been sorted out 14 years ago, but thems the breaks..

It was last year so be prepared to get in ASAP for tickets. I would suggest if you are a Port Member to contact your club a few weeks in advance if you have the oppurtunity to get a ticket through them and sit with other Port supporters.

Thx Seppo , I rang the PA football club and they only have a small amount of tickets allocated to interstate membership holders ,ill be sitting at the ready waiting for tickets to come available online .

Something weird is happening on Foxtel. Last night they had a movie called Mzungu, today it's Sylvia. o_O
