It's a wonder you have the energy to type. How good is the weather.

Feels like summer to me bloody hot :p

It’s a great city don’t get me wrong I’m just a bit of a smal town person so all the inner city stuff is eye opening

Don’t see homeless lying around here and people so obviously drugged up , fighting, pissing

Nothing beats the g and down st Kilda

I also like to go explore south melbourne and good to run past lakeside oval etc

Tasmania might be first state to abolish gender from birth certificates

They aren't abolishing gender, just not requiring it to be disclosed on birth certificates. If it makes life easier for the small percentage of the population who are transgender, and doesn't affect the majority, then I can't see an issue?

Just politicians buggering around with unimportant things
‘Don’t want to seem grumpy old man, but you are born as a gender, don’t see many confused babies

Think we could vote and focus on more Important issues

Did you ever watch Thunderbirds?

There was a spin-off that included a character that had a baby which was referred to as goyburl. Not a boy. Not a girl.

You're a grumpy old man. :p

I take your point, but sometimes if a minor change can make life better for a few it can still be worth doing, I think you made this exact same point in your post in the SRP thread. :)

I did

But I’m not convinced on this issue to be honest, I just don’t get gender confusion and will offend some but to me it’s like saying I’d like to identify as a tree instead of a human so haven’t got a lot of time for it as a thing.

Also never met anyone affected by it so that means a lack of exposure

If birth certificates say nothing about gender then it's a hurdle removed from people becoming whoever they want to be.

What's a birth certificate anyway? A document used to establish existence and identity. Who really gives a rat's whether it has a check box for male or female?

I can't see a down side and would support it if the Nanny State ever decided to adopt it.

It doesn’t do anything then why worry about changing it anyway , I just don’t know why it’s a thing, but I’ll do some reading on it

Can we become whoever we want to be, or are there certain things about us that just 'are' and can't be changed?

(I don't have the answer to that question btw, I just found it interesting)

If it has no effect on 99% of people what is the big deal to change it so that the 1% who are effected can sleep a little easier?

That opens the door to a lot of things that don’t affect the majority of people

Just because something doesn't affect the majority of people doesn't mean we shouldn't make changes that may have a positive effect on a minority.

It’s not a reason to do something either

There’s a survey here on the government site with 6000 votes 98% against it, so I guess it must be something that bothers the majority so we won’t do it then
