Beautiful sunny day a perfect opportunity to get out and about. So what am I doing? Stuck at the airport arrivals terminal. Grrrr
What a homo.
Are you ok Malfan?
What a fun night of transportation.
6:35 - walk to Wynyard station in the pouring rain (not a long walk but far enough to be soaking wet)
6:40 - walk on to train that has clearly been sitting at the station for a while. All the doors between the carriages are open and they are jam packed with people drowning in sweat.
6:55 - after 15 minutes of announcements saying 'major delays' I give up hope and head back to the office to do some more work.
8:15 - get a fair bit of work done and since it's after 8pm I'm allowed to use the company cab charge's, so I stay back a bit longer knowing I have a fairly comfortable cab ride ahead.
8:25 - head downstairs, 20+ people waiting for a cab and not a cab in sight.
8:25:14 - sit in the gutter and cry for a few minutes wondering if I'll ever see my family again.
8:30 - pull myself together and head back to Wynyard station.
8:35 - The walkways underneath are empty, all the ticket barriers are unguarded and open..a bit of a scary scene. Platforms are a bit busier but it feels like I've walked in on a funeral. Very sombre atmosphere.
8:45 - A distant roar greets my ears from the opposite end of the platform. An approaching train has been spotted.
8:46 - I am finally leaving the city.
9:13 - Train to Berowra unexpectedly terminates at Gordon (I live in Pymble). A guy built like Plugger beside me rages to himself. I laughed, in my head. If I lol'd, I would have died.
9:14 - 100+ clueless people huddling under shelter at Gordon station waiting for an unknown train (all the screen monitors just said 'wait for announcement').
9:15 - Give up on the Suduko in the MX
9:19 - Luckily didn't have to wait long, the nightmare is almost over.
9:20 - Pull up at Pymble.
9:24 - Home.
