Rate My Team (Part II)

Not too happy with my current team, being mucking around with it a bit, as most people do. I'm not concentrating on league or comp, just get the highest scores possible (which sounds like comp) but I'm not interested in my overall ranking, just as long as I beat my mates weekly scores.

D: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Enright, Grimes, Otten, Hibberd (Toy, Duigan, Puopolo)

M: Swan, Murphy, Bartel, Griffen, Swallow, Heppell (Irons, Harris, Smith)

R: Sandilands, Cox (Smith, Campbell)

F: NRiewoldt, Franklin, Green, Higgins, Yarran Krakouer, Mzungu (Richardson, Liddy, Matera)

Higgins I don't mind taking a risk on, but I had 324k left over for my forward line, and Yarran was the best option under that imo. Can anyone see where I could 1) downgrade Yarran, and use 210k odd to improve my team in another area or 2) downgrade a player from another area and upgrade Yarran to a Pavlich/Goodes.

Yarran - cheaper forward, then Bartel to Selwood and see if I can trade Griffen into an absolute premium mid?

Nice team but I would downgrade Yarran to Prestia and then upgrade Bartel to Selwood and then Griffen to Cross or Monty. If you need some extra cash to upgrade your mids I would downgrade Enright to Stanley or Lower (if he gets elevated).

Some quick things before I have to get off the computer:

Blueiris: Would downgrade O'Keefe to a rookie priced mid, leaving you easily enough cash to upgrade Clark to Sandilands, which I strongly feel you should do. Didak has had an injury interrupted pre season, so possibly get Pav in for him, or Goodes. If you still need extra cash to modify your team, downgrade Petrie to a rookie ruck.

I know it sounds good in theory, having Petrie as a replacement for the bye rounds, but the price difference is the difference between having Kieran Jack/Shaun Burgoyne, both pretty good players, or Selwood/Judd/Hodge, who are outright guns and will only let you down through injuries. And even then they don't let you down often, all being fairly durable players. There is a 15 pt difference EACH WEEK, whereas Petrie might get you 50-60 more points then a rookie two times this year. Without checking to see if my figures are correct, there is a 200 pt difference right there.

Would be nice to follow guidelines and rate a team first then you will receive a decent response. Anywho, Defence. Good but would rather Hurn then Drummond. Hibberd is wasted in the defence as Heppel is already there. No MPP link. Mids. Hodge very slow pre-season, no games till rd1.Rucks normal. Fwds look good. Darling hasn't been in the good books..may wanna watch him. Not in a Higgins mood this year.

Hodge will not score 100 in the first 3 rounds. Very underdone. Polec? No AFL expirience, dont think he's a good idea for a starting mid.

Fair point.

It's definitely not a starting team, it is a team however and it does illustrate the sort of players I don't want though and that's ones that pose unnecessary risks.

Can swap Selwood and Boyd for Murphy and Pendlebury. Neither carlton or collingwood are in multi team bye rounds so if I have 2 bench players playing I can hopefully avoid the donut and have a greater yearly points output from them.

I'm just proving I don't care about noobs coming in here who think they can just post a team (most of the time fairly rubbish) and have everyone in the forum take the time to tell them what to do.

If you post a decent team, I'll give you some good feedback

Nah, like most people's, my team included, the forward are tricky to find the solid contributors for this year - Its really hard to know what Goodes, Pav, Kraks and Higgins will score this year.

Apart from that fix the rookies up for round 1 and you should be alright.

Feel free to help others out as well. You'll find it will help your own team out when you start second guessing every decision you've made.
