Just heard a little snippet on SEN regarding Ratts would love to sit down with Robert Harvey at the end of the year and see what his aspirations are after he retires whether its a part time or full time role

i would love to have Harvey come down even a day a week and put his knowledge on the team!!

thumbs up for me if we can get him!:thumbsu:

I'v heard great stuff about Harvey. Spoke to stan Alves and he said Robert kept a diary of things he needed to improve on and always continued to try and improve on his game and worked very hard, probably a unique St. Kilda player. Would definatly have him at the club.

Hey would be good to get Harvey but what about getting back Carltons favorite son back coaching at the Blues S O S ------- STEPHEN SILVAGNI

I say it sounds like a great idea, fresh blood and one of the all-time greats at that.:thumbsu:

I'd love to see the great man at our club, playing a vital part in out future. But i honestly can't see him taking a assistant coaching job anywhere other than at the saints!

But i could be wrong!!

He could be our kicking coach.:D

What WOULD Harvey bring to the table, though?

Yes, he's universally respected. And as he has put it recently, his main claim to fame was the ability to run harder and longer than his opponent. He did that with courage, guts and hard-work. Good things to teach, but can they be taught?

But he's never been a good kick. He's an awful mark. He's not a great talker, nor a vocal leader. I don't know if he's tactically clever...

I'm a huge fan of Harvs the player, but what would be bring as a coach?

Get him to teach Murph, Judd and Gibbs to get 20 years out of their bodies. The longer we have these guys the better. But can longevity be taught???

Coming to Carlton might be about the only way that he would ever be involved in a premiership !! :p

He WAS involved in a premiership.
