No McGovern, no McKay, obviously no Charlie, Jack Martin injured early. Basically the entire forward line missing, against the premiership favourites at their fortress, and you pushed them really hard for most of the day. We’ve had our own run of injuries at GWS over the years.

I could see how you might be frustrated though. It would tough to watch week after week,

1. A coach who sits back and pretty much just hopes his team will win.

2. A real stalwart and warrior like Murphy just hanging in way too long. It would hurt to see such a great club person become a liability.

3. A captain and top five player in the league, like Cripps, unable to do the one thing he built his reputation on. And be the opposite of whatever “clutch” is.

4. Be able to predict, like watching a replay of a game you’ve already watched, what will happen, and how you will lose, when you look like winning.

But I think you have a lot to look forward to. This is a talented side. You get some key players back from injury, pick up one or two guns at the trade table, and find a coach who can coach, and you’ll be very hard to stop and may even create a genuine dynasty.

Loving the melts on the coach... are supporters expecting a flag this year... we put up a great fight. Missing a forward line of Charlie, Gov, McKay, Martin and Cunners, have a think about that for a moment!!!

It's a good point. Quite possibly 5 of our best starting 6 forward line missing.

And would go a long way to explaining the numerous forward 50 entries with inability to score today. Fish always looked likely but very few else.

Upset we lost, always hard to beat a team like the Eagles kicking just 2 goals in the the second half. Umpiring was pathetic today but again our mental lapses in the game cost us any chance of winning. However saying this i was happy with the boys efforts today considering our injuries and losing Martin early, our pressure was great early on but again dropped off after half time, hope we can learn to play 4 quarters consistently. Thought Fisher was good today, and liked the look of TDK, i hope we persist with him his going to become a very good player. Not going to bash any players but i do hope we start rotating players aswell as the older players and giving them a rest and bringing in some fresh hungry players, there are some players that just seem to gifted game and it shows on game day, i think this is the only way we are going to get better as a playing group, and start seeing results consistently. Hopefully we get some key personnel back next week and produce a 4 quarter effort. Just my two cents, stay safe all.

It's tough with the new 6-6-6 rule. Most of the goals they kicked in that rush were from centre square clearances.
