Nice to see Brad Johnson and Jordan Lewis try and praise Carlton, words coming out like vinegar out of their dribbling chins
At least Johnson was honest in saying clearly he doesn’t like Carlton, but loves footy and that, that ending was what he loves about footy.

That was one we were owed.
Great to be on the end of some lucky officiating for once this season and you see it does make a difference.
What a kick from Newnes I thought he was no chance !

Agreed mate, magnificent kick, backed himself in and slotted it sweetly. GREAT job and to think I was one of the filthy campaigners that wanted Newnes dropped.

I hadn't seen much of Luke Ryan before, but he was unbelievable tonight.

Best player on the ground IMO.
That's okay, I've paid so little attention to Freo that before tonight I thought Ross Lyon was still coach haha.

Just let wanted to post this here, as me and my partner are in raptures right now (her side Carlton and obviously my second side) - you may have just witnessed divine intervention, haha.

My grandmother unfortunately passed away today, from this f*cking horrible covid 19 disease. It's been a tough day as we were close, but footy has been a great comfort all throughout.

Point of this post, is that with about 10 minutes to go, I looked up to the sky and asked my nana if she could help us over the line. 10 seconds to go and Docherty kicks it out on the full. Me and my partner both think it's over and we commiserate.

Nek minnit, a down the field free kick is paid, and no-one really knows what it's for. Moreso, Newnes who is an experienced player takes the kick, and Gibbons who is young doesn't.

Newnes kicks the goal, and the rest is history.

For the record, I'm an agnostic, but I do believe there's things we don't understand. I said thank you to my nana, and it kinda brings me a bit of joy to see something so bizarre/unusual unfold.

Go Blues!

Sorry for your loss Shadow.
And a big thanks to your dear Grandma for the assist!
Commiserations mate.

These are the games that launch it. Memories, moments to learn from and working your arse of to achieve a goal. Crippa’s interview after the game = invested. That song with the whole club in it! Culture building stuff.

Yeap

Coming from behind, in wet conditions, away from home

You don't win games like that if you don't have belief, good culture

Yeh dow straight in for cottrell who was worst on ground by a mile.

Worst on ground? No way. He did what he needed to do. Saw ball, get ball, bang ball long in wet conditions. Stuck to his opponent. Don't let the disposal efficiency get to you when he was in the trenches. Great goal too.
