Are we honestly the worst team when it comes to forward 50 entries? Honestly if I see our boys blaze away into the fifty or kick it to a 2 on 1 and hope for the best I'm going to have a bloody aneurysm. Who can we actually rely on to use the footy well going inside fifty?

Yeh dow straight in for cottrell who was worst on ground by a mile.
I didn't see Cottrell cough up the ball a dozen or so times, directly to the opposition, I didn't see him give hospital handballs which sell his team-mate into trouble, I didn't see him miss tackles at crucial times

I did see Marc Murphy do that though.

Possessions are not everything

Couldn't hit the target in the second, 10m out, slight angle, not surrounding defenders....

55m out on arc and boundary junction, however..... No problems!!
oh well...shit happens. he is a cosistent goal kicker which i like. and he tackles and they rarely slip out when he wraps them up. we desperately need to play better as a team. we make it hard work but full credit we did not give up. it was like we smelt blood...maybe because we did it last year as well. building belief with each win. specially these sorts of wins.

Just let wanted to post this here, as me and my partner are in raptures right now (her side Carlton and obviously my second side) - you may have just witnessed divine intervention, haha.

My grandmother unfortunately passed away today, from this f*cking horrible covid 19 disease. It's been a tough day as we were close, but footy has been a great comfort all throughout.

Point of this post, is that with about 10 minutes to go, I looked up to the sky and asked my nana if she could help us over the line. 10 seconds to go and Docherty kicks it out on the full. Me and my partner both think it's over and we commiserate.

Nek minnit, a down the field free kick is paid, and no-one really knows what it's for. Moreso, Newnes who is an experienced player takes the kick, and Gibbons who is young doesn't.

Newnes kicks the goal, and the rest is history.

For the record, I'm an agnostic, but I do believe there's things we don't understand. I said thank you to my nana, and it kinda brings me a bit of joy to see something so bizarre/unusual unfold.

Go Blues!
All the best shadow, condolences to you

thanks for posting

Won with Weitering beaten. Good sign. Thought the umpiring was fair all game but went our way towards the end.

No worries about that after what we've been put through other weeks.

So can we put to bed a couple of myths?

1. There is no conspiracy against Carlton.
2. Umpiring can affect the result of a game.
Don't think Weits was beaten.

First Tab goal was no free.

Second mark he got was 50/50 - had Weitering's throat.

Third was Jones - Attempted overhead mark fell right into Tab's lap.

I am literally lost for words right now, thought we had lost that game, Newnes you bloody legend what a goal, i woke my 3 year old son up screaming when he kicked that goal, his not going back to sleep now but it was definitely worth it, my hearts still racing a million miles per hour, we were gifted that downfield free kick at the end but they were also gifted a couple of shockers which resulted in goals for them, so i think it was even at the end, but saying that i thought we deserved to win we dominated the game after quarter time just inaccurate kicking was costing us. Thought Walshy and Ed were our best players today, Crippa was alot better in the second half, also like the look of Cottrell looks like his got abit of mongrel about him, Great win Bluebaggers, sorry for the long post just ecstatic we won, have a great night all.

Cottrell bang ball long in wet conditions?
Think we were watching different games. Twice in about 30 seconds he gave two dribble kicks in defensive 50 that went straight to a freo player that went about 10metres.
Might be able to run all day, but needs more time in the twos, has no clue at all...bring back dow for sure

was a few worse that Cottrell, Betts was easily wog, SPS was ordinary and honey had no impact even for a duets game player.

It was in jest -- FWIW I think he's done pretty well this year.

I'm just so happy right now.
