You are correct. We still lost.If I am not mistaken hasnt White kept Dusty quiet in the past tagging him?

This. You can slow him down at the stoppage, but he's a difficult combination of strength, height and speed to have a player who can sit on him.Dusty is untaggable, trying would've been pointless
I'm not sure if it is just me but did anybody else notice that we didn't tag Dusty the same way we tagged Ablett. Against Gold Coast every blues player had to bump into Ablett if they were near him. Yet against the tigers i felt no one was bumping into Dusty.
Yes.
I was actually speaking with a mate before the game about this.
I mentioned that I doubt we'd go down that path with Dusty - I reckon he's the type to thrive on the back of it rather than let it affect him adversely.
My thoughts were that if we were going down that path with someone it should be Cotchin. The bloke turns to water under pressure.

MATTHEW KREUZER (Carlton): Continued his stellar form this season with another impressive performance that saw him dominate the ruck with 37 hit-outs and also gather 14 disposals and two goals.
Need to recruit a Pendlebury type, with poise, and who doesn't loose their shit in a frantic game...
I thought you were a bit harsh on Boeckhorst early in the season, but you where dead right. Did not show any intensity at all.Yep.
Line was well and truly put through his name yesterday.

I think thats crap. Yes Martin is a bull. But making life hard for a match winner like that should never to overlooked. Ed is tough enough to negate him.
We might have been a bit stiff. Think that the game plan was to curb Houli with Lamb and Dusty with Ed. We all know what happened with Lamb and I suspect that Ed picked up an injury early which may have influenced his running ability. Doesn't mean that others couldn't have stepped up and their was clearly nowhere near as much solidarity as there had been in previous weeks.Negate - sure. But there's negating/tagging and then there's going above and beyond with some who you're confident you can throw off their game mentally.
We went above and beyond a fortnight ago with GAJ. We also went above and beyond last year against Motlop.
I don't see going above and beyond vs Dusty as being advantageous because, as I said, I reckon he's the type who would thrive on it rather than let it affect him.
Cotchin is another story entirely. Strikes me as a lot weaker mentally than Dusty.
Richmond have lucked on to the very small forward line model simply because they have no taller options. Hurts us because we it leaves us a bit tall there. Will hurt them if Nankervis gets hurt and probably wont stand up in finals.
Don't rate them any chance without a lot of luck however there are some subtle differences from our group back then. Betts, Yarran and Jeffy were more dynamic but their blokes are maybe a bit more disciplined and better at holding the ball in. Jack is better than any key forward we had then (Setanta average and Waite all hit and miss) and Dusty is worth a few goals to them.Probably won't stand up in finals?
Mate, we've been there and done that. It doesn't stand up in finals.
It didn't work when we had Eddie, Garlett and Yarran. What chance do you give it working with Castagna, Butler, Rioli and Bolton?![]()
Walid Ali goes in to bat for Hoili, if I was on the tribunal panel that'll be an extra 2 weeks automatically.
Lol im not exactly sure, character reference i think. What did that peanut say?
Really? So 1 more week than you get for a mere jumper punch! What a joke.Houli got 2 weeks
Ablett had a dodgy shoulderI'm not sure if it is just me but did anybody else notice that we didn't tag Dusty the same way we tagged Ablett. Against Gold Coast every blues player had to bump into Ablett if they were near him. Yet against the tigers i felt no one was bumping into Dusty.
Also..
James Hird was shocked to be sitting there too Bashar.
More importantly
Lamb was probs shocked to be frying there!!!
Probably won't stand up in finals?

Okay - Basher Hooligan!
Agreed - the best way to counter Dusty is to bore him out of the game. He doesn't work all that hard defensively, and can go missing for long patches when the ball isn't coming his way. Win the ball and limit his supply and you go a long way to quelling his influence.
