Autopsy Rd 4 Blues annihilated by 86 points

They are a bottom 8 side, they are blooding youngsters just like us and they certainly shouldn't be the type of team you lose by a 100 points to.

Nothing like us. Check out post 2. They have a smattering of youth in there but nothing extreme.

Our injury list:
Murphy
Willo
Marchy
Lang
Byrne
ASOS
Pickett
Docherty

All the above are starting 22 and would make a BIG difference and whilst we are all extremely disappointed from lack of effort, from a personel point of view those players would make us more competitive.

This is very true but like you said, it doesn't excuse the lack of effort. Tackling pressure has been awful this season and tonight it was insipid.

We had nearly 100 less disposals and had less tackles. That is a ****ing disgrace.

For the short sighted whingers my perspective before I go and have a drink and celebrate a fine debut

Youngest list we have ever had and we are playing most of them
Long list of injuries to key players which at this stage we need to be competitive
Kennedy Kruezer are playing injured
Given their experience and support SPS Fisher Charlie Marchbank Silvagni O'Brien Dow show positive signs
It is hard to cover one young player in an AFL side. 12 or so is impossible.
Kids do not consistently influence games. Physically we can't match especially with tackling and pressure. THAT IS WHY IT LOOKS LIKE EFFORT IS POOR
Rebuild is trying to be fast tracked
This is the year for some elite mature bodies and couple more talented kids.
We have most positions well covered
We will fight through this and come out the other side a much better side and club
OShea Jones Thomas Lamb Mullett Shaw Casboult will not be part of best 22 in 2019/20

Out of tonight how would we do if:

Murphy replaced Graham
ASOS replaced Jones
Marchbank replaced O'Shea
Williamson replaced Mullett
Docherty replaced Thomas
our kids all had another 20 plus games and
Mckay Lang & Macreadie were ready to play and influence
Doesn't take much

Mark this down and feel free to come at me if proven untrue as I know most will not say anything if I'm right

1. We will win more than 4 games this year
2. 2nd half will be a lot better
3. 2019 will see significant improvement
4. 2020 will be finals or very close
5. A lot of posters will go missing then

You're making too much sense...

I hope you are right. This hurts for the young kids. Really feel for them. Imagine being drafted into this mess.

Surely we gotta question Amos and Barker. Stoppages have been woeful beyond belief. It’s not skill or age when players just aren’t running in good patterns and working together at stoppages. Can’t believe how poor that area of our game is and we have Cripps!!
I reckon we have too many on the outside waiting for the clearance and not going in when its their turn .

Ed Curnow once again stood out on top. Patrick Cripps too can hold his head up high.

To those complaining about a certain player's skill level tonight, just don't. I honestly cannot separate one from the rest when it came to good use of the ball.

Problem is beyond the players. It lies within the game plan. No belief and no idea what to do or where to be. We have been beaten in every single facet of the game for the past 3 weeks. Midfield ball ups, throw ins, scraps, going forward, defending, linking up, zoning off. Nothing works. Teams just pick us apart and its all too easy. We are completely confused and dont know where to stand or what to do at any given moment. At least last year despite our low scoring it was competitive and there was structure and cohesion. Boltons idea that you implement a defence year 1 and then simply add on an attacking level in the 2nd year doesnt work. You implement a game plan that takes into account both. Now we are stuck in two minds and dont know what to do or where to stand. We look lost. Completely lost.

Weitering in his first year vs now.
Plowman last year vs now.
Sps in his first year/ games vs now.
Even Dow in his first glimpses vs now.
Jones last year vs now.

It appears Carlton has employed several player undevelopment coaches who are doing a great job!

I know we are missing key players but seriously can we please go back to last year's gameplan? They look lost out there.

Drop for whom. That would require players chomping at the bit to get a run.

Witches hats!

Seriously when you put a training hat out there you can't expect anything from it so it doesn't frustrate you when it does nothing.

But, when you have a set of 'AFL' players out there doing nothing...

Look, I've got nothing nice to say about tonight other than well done O'Brien.

At least the hats won't turn the ball over.

Believe me they are fine. The negativity is here and the media. The kids really believe they are going somewhere and they undertsand they need to work hard to get there.

A lot of my confidence and belief comes from knowing what a confident and driven group they are.

I know it's not. We may be a year out in the balance of it is all. I do think people get a bit carried away with players not fitting our age profile when they might be useful to hold together our structure and game plan for a year or two while the kids develop.

We got beaten by 14 goals against a side many predicted to finish last.

We’ve got a stockpile of first round draft picks, yet our list tapers off after 25, which has happened FOR 10 YEARS.

Yeah, I’m angry.

Not all are starting 22 if everyone is fit. Bunsen and Willo are Doc replacements, but certainly in our best 25.

Thing is we can't afford to lose players at all. We have had a shit run with injury for years now. Some other teams would come back to the fold quickly if they had their best players out.

Kennedy came back and and looked ok, ran full pace at a contested ball.

Murphy will be weeks and Kruez, well we know his history.

Kennedy is a least of our worries. He's a gun in the making who is playing injured. Easy to forget the he is a young and inexperienced player himself who is still trying to find his way in the game.

I believe you soapy .... just hard at the minute .... trying to stay positive ... just frustrated.

Didn’t watch the match today .... worked a double yesterday and then worked again today, came home had something to eat, went for a nap and “luckily” slept through the debacle.

Will say this, bet $100 on norf winning and Ben Brown kicking four goals at 4.5/1 on Friday ... knew then we were going to lose.

I see your point and it is a voice of reason but just so tired of injuries being so cruel to us over so many years ... especially now.

Not going to vent, going to realise we are playing kids and just pray you are right and we stick fat with Bolts.

It’s a tough time being a Blues supporter at the moment ... just seems like we are never going to find that winning formula.
