This I think. Parsons probably 4 down to 3.

The AFL have stated long and hard that consequences add to the "time" awarded. if they hold that line its just the act. In that case my feeling is that

Menagola has a chance to get off - no double movement from memory (we have seen a few of one movement tackles not cited now). No damage done.
Parsons will get 2 down to one. No damage done - except to Hodges ego.

I think Menegola may get a fine, but Parsons 2 down to one, which makes it easy to bring McCarthy back and I think Kolo is the future so someone needs to make way, maybe Ruggles rested after that head knock.

I have had a long look at the classification for the MRP. I honestly believe although it will probably be a bad look for the game that based on the MRP's own classification Parson's should get off with a fine. to my mind it was careless, low impact, high contact

The only real concern is the worry that the AFL just does what it wants when it doesnt feel like following its own system and because it looked bad I think he might get 2 down to 1.

If that wasn't intentional i don't know what is

Just shows how we all see it differently. Careless? It looked like he deliberately raised his elbow to initiate head contact to me. Just a dumb thing to do. Hopefully as a young 'un he'll learn from this.

Parsons 2, Menegola 1. Given I probably would've given Parsons 3 and Menegola a fine, I guess it ends up about even. Linc and GHS as reasonably straight swaps so it shouldn't hurt too much in the short run but after yesterday's game I want both back in the team ASAP.

And Gibson off. For a concussion.

The way they described the provisions and rules for the MRP on AFL 360 last night, it seemed this would happen. I was of the belief if you elected to bump and collected the head, then the onus was on you. Apparently it's still that but if you make contact to the head that you tried to avoid, you're all right. Because we need more shades of grey in tribunal/umpiring/mrp decisions...

I didn't watch 360, but that doesn't sound like a shade of grey it sounds like a completely different interpretation. Making contact to the head that you try to avoid sounds like 'careless' which is already a classification, otherwise all a player would have to do to get off is to say there was no intent.

Taylor Hunt when at Geelong got 2 weeks for an accidental head clash on Daniel Rich at the Gabba when putting on a shepard (not nearly as brutal as Gibson) which resulted in a split eye to Rich and he played out the game (Ruggles got concussion).
Either Hunt was screwed over or Gibson got very lightly I don't know, put thats to be expected from MRP/ Umpiring dept.
The MRP/Umps Dept make Sean Spicer look like an amateur with their dribble and double standards.
