Schmidt should be fired for blatant cheating.

So many OBVIOUS free kicks not given to the Pies in the bulldogs game.

50/50 frees? Forget it, no chance in hell.

Where is the consistency in umpiring?

Appreciation? You have to earn it. Pies haven't had a fair go this year in any match but Schmidt took it to another level.

Where is Eddie? Bucks should have said something.

Who do the AFL and the umpires think they are? No one allowed to criticise them?

Maybe I should send out a memo at work tomorrow saying I am above criticism - any criticism will be met with a fine - what do you reckon?

The rules have become a joke - just take a look at the rules committee.

We do get a hard run with the umps especially compared to WC.

The last couple of games we have tackled our hearts out yet I can't recall us getting even one holding the ball or incorrect disposal. That just doesn't add up to me.

Interesting to note that what hasn't been mentioned much is that we were experimenting a fair bit last night, especially early.

I doubt we'll ever see Ben Reid up forward against a good side, let alone a premiership contending one, yet last night the All Australian CHB stayed there for 2 and a half quarters.

We also had Steele off half back for large periods of the game, and while it worked for a while, I'd say we won't see that a lot against the better teams.

We used Buckley in a more responsible manner last night, we can't place him on any stars of the opposition down back, because he still panics under pressure and does struggle one on one defensively, but the drive he gives us is only equaled by Heath Shaw really. If Bucks can turn Bucks;):p into a consistent senior footballer, he will have one up over Mick already.:)

I think the experimenting will end soon, although once Tarrant returns one of Keefe, Reid, Brown or Tarrant will have to play forward, because if all are fit, all play, they are too good not to. I'm now sold on the Tarrant forward option, I reckon it might prolong his career and we do need that third tall forward option, especially when Dawes goes into the ruck.

As for Dawes, he's developing into the "Leigh Brown role" nicely, I dare you to compare Dawes' stats to Browns' stats from the last few seasons, and off the top of my head I'd say Dawes would be ahead.

Overall, we got what we wanted, the win, with only one injury, and while BJ will be a loss, he's not irreplaceable.

Bring on the BearLions.:)

tazza up forward i reckon :D:thumbsu:

yeh I've seen some great tackles that just haven't been paid to collingwood - but so easily paid to other teams.. obvious bias.
I reckon if the umps had been fairer in the hawthorn game we would have won that one too. And all that horsh in the anzac day game about video review, the umps tried their hardest to take the win from us.
By my reckoning we've only lost one game this year.
I still can't get over how on Friday night cloke was literally punched in the face and nothing.

The scary part is, we played very average, the Bulldogs played the best they have for over a season, and yet take away the 3 men in yellow and they lose by 6 or 7 goals.

Good sign for us if you ask me.

Good win, well fought out by the boys just persevered all night and eventually came away with the four points.

Woods a huge concern, lacks intent and got jumped all over at the centre bounces, bit better around the ground.

Forward looked very top heavy, desperately need some speed and agility up there.

Fasolo needs a week in the twos no doubt

dont no what is going on with Wellingham, not sure where hes at, seemed to struggle and has quite a bit this year

Beames sidebottom were fantastic, really stepping up in some absences.

Pendlebury and Swan consistent all night, swanny broke his tag in the second half and really looked fit

Need some consistency from Maxwell and Harry, both seem very shakey one on one, marty wasnt to bad and keefee was very good. Brown dog gave away alot of free kicks.

Really looking forward to brisbane this week, didak should come in along with thomas blair and jolly, we need to have a good hit out before the cats in two weeks time, Fasolo Buckley Ugle could all have a spell along with johnnos injury

for the moment though very proud of boys like sinclair keefee really leading the way for us.

lets keep racking up the four points!

I tend to agree.
(You're becoming quite the optimist in your posting Ed.)

While I was hoping we would "click" in this match, we slogged it out and still got the 4 points despite an indifferent team performance.(This does not negate some fantastic individual performances.)
I reckon we are lacking the tendency to simply stream forward, from whichever position on field, as soon as we gain possession.
Whether this is a new intentional mindset/tactic, cobwebs or a simply a lack of confidence with many new faces in the side I don't know.

Hawthorn basically used our own game plan against us, with little reaction from Bucks or our side in round 1. Carlton too used similar tactics.

WE have not been doing this and consequently have not been posting big scores.

With our defense now as strong as it is likely to get, given Tas is likely available v Brisbane, it's time to test Keefe in the Leigh Brown role and get Dawes back in the goal square.

Get the pill and pound it in relentlessly.

I'm not. I'm still calling it as I see it.

We played average football (hardly a positive yeah?), but despite that, the Bulldogs played the best game they've played for over a year AND they had the 3 maggots on their side and we managed to win by 3 and a half goals (almost 4 goals for the optimists ).

You take away at LEAST 3 goals from dodgy ump calls, and hand us 2 or 3 we should have been paid and we win by almost 8 goals.

Not being positive or negative, just calling it as I see it, which I've basically always done.

Just an observation.:thumbsu::)

I am concerned that Cloke needs to be drawn and quartered before he gets a free kick. His standards are just beyond rediculous.

id rather see cloke not get free kicks than play for them like the velvet sledgehammer did.

it is ridiculous though. i dont know what else cloke has to do to get a free. no wonder he was frustrated.

by the way can anyone explain to me how that free kick was paid against keefe in the goalsquare?? WTF happened there keefe was in front
