Where is the love for Benny Sinclair?

His harassment and forward pressure was fantastic again and had numerous score involvements throughout the night. Had the one minor blimp when he should have kicked instead of bouncing the ball but I really like him. Love the little nugget! :thumbsu:

Thought Reid was more than fine up forward, but then he went back and I just thought "he has to play in the backline". Gets a fist in and reads the ball beautifully. And Keeffe was great up forward but I'd hate for the club to start throwing him forward and back 6 times throughout a game. Will just play with the big fella mentally I reckon.

Bests: Beams, Pendlebury, Clarke, Shaw, Reid, Keeffe and Sidebottom.

Also, cant believe Swanny had close to 30 touches. Barely sighted him in the first half

LOTS of love for Sinclair on the Didaka Medal thread. Most have him ahead of you in your best.;)
Slip on over an put in your votes.:thumbsu:

:D Oops. Knew I'd forget someone and that one person was the one I commended in the same post. *slaps head*

On another note, Buckley mucked up a couple of times tonight but thought his kicking in general was pretty good. 30 disposals as well so he didn't do too badly. Does anyone know his DE% for the night?

The players who obvious played well were: Beams, Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Shaw, Keeffe

I thought Wood was actually fairly good without being excellent and provided good service at times to our midfield. He needs to work on making sure that if he is going to lose a tap he doesn't lose it outright giving really free service to the opposition. He also needs to be able to work forward or into defense to provide another marking target. He had a really good game doing this against Adelaide (2009?) and needs to get back to that form.

I thought Sinclair was excellent. I disagree with the sentiment that there isn't a place for a person whose primary attribute is general forward tackling pressure. He frequently knocked the ball on to advantage, caused a spillage or tackle which helped the team - none of which he gets a stat for. He was absolutely frantic and desperate which was excellent to see. The hunger he brings is second to none and I hope he keeps getting a game. Absolutely stoked to see some reward for effort. In an elite game it's rare to see a guy who stands above the rest so obviously for effort and endeavour.

I think Buckley was actually OK. He made some really crucial mistakes and probably cost us 3 goals or so due to his direct mistakes but showed some poise and set up some important passages of play. His handballing was really solid and when he was able to kick long he was solid. I actually thought he looked OK when he went into the middle but is obviously behind about 10 players. I'd love to see how he went with a full game in the middle to see the effect of a huge confidence boost was - I think he had the potential to be a really good player if managed well.

Fasolo, Maxwell, Goldsack and O'Brien need to lift markedly imo

AC Joint on Jonno, dunno how long.

Game wise it was alright, would have liked percentage but the dogs gave us more than we bargained for, still got a huge gap to fill if we want to come back to the pack.
Can't see no more forward press, bucks has removed this in it's ENTIRETY, dogs were just able to get the ball out of our forward line with the slightest of ease.

A win's a win so i'm happy.

Buckleys disposal eff was 60% and he had seven clangers

Good win tonight guys.

Really impressed with Sinclair's game. Seemed to be involved in a lot of the goals that you slotted through. Also thought Keefe put together a nice game as well. They're two guys I've seen very little of so they stood out.

Fasolo looked to be running on one leg in the final term. He had his knee strapped heavily.

His knee was strapped all game.

Better to get the win than not, means we've still got time to get it together. The Dogs are not a good side though, to be pushed so hard by them is worrying. I didn't think it was a particularly impressive game, certainly some positives in there like Sinclair showing a bit of improvement but at the moment this team reminds me of the workman like 2009 side more than the 2011 one.

I thought Goldsack did some good things up forward. He have us something and looked lively throughout the game.

I still think hes going to be a utility that fills roles. Having him there as the fourth tall with Keeffe or Reid needing a spot (not to mention Tarrant) , makes the forward line very top heavy.

Good problem to have. Goldsack is putting pressure on Dawes Harry and Maxwell to perform every week.

ok then, remember 2009 - the same game. we won by a point. a lot of players from both teams played that night.

the dogs were definitely up for us, and ran their hearts out. they are still a decent side at full strength, but once any key player misses, the gap shows. i was a little concerned going into this game, as our successes so far have all been to the lower end of the table teams. we had also given the players a few days off after anzac day. just glad to come out with 4 points. it is still early in the season.

onto the bears and then our first real test (cats) with something like a full list.....fingers crossed.

The Dogs were great early. They were very hard at it and smashed us in the contested ball before we worked our way into it. You never know how a team will come out after the extra days off sometimes but we seemed to start slow.

Shaw looked great for his first game back, Ried a little less so but starting forward probably didn't help. It was necessary though. I liked Keefe there more but think it's worth trying Ried again after he's got some touch back.

It was apparent tonight that our forward line is a little... unsettled. The Dogs rebounded easily off half back a lot and with Lake starting better than he has in ages we really needed other avenues to goal than Cloke. I struggled at times to see how we'd get there but there were some great goals kicked by Shaw, Goldsack and Sinclair to name a few.

Goldsack's set shots should not be taken for granted in that 11.11 to 15.8 scoreline. We won because we took our chances.

With our injured forwards and so many backmen kicking goals we need Didak back and in form more than ever. If he doesn't play against Brisbane next week he won't come back for the Cats game will he?

You know what m getting sick of?

Opposition players who have done nothing for 2 seasons, decide they're going to star and "turn back the clock" against us.

F**king annoying.

Something strange is going on with our midfield. They are getting beaten with frightening regularity (outside ANZAC Day).
