Enough already, dont take any notice of the Ump biglayock, this is purely some payback for a bit of banter we had with the HDFL Saints in 2008. So I was misquoted/misinterpreted Im sure it's happened to us all at some stage. Time for a change of topic as this is so bloody ridiculous  Hows the interleague side shaping up? It seems like it's pretty well run in comparison to where we've come.

Ill have a go at picking a team;
I could be way off here as i havnt seen all the teams play this year and i am going on past years a little bit also
no dissresepect to anyone ive left out either!

HFF. J.Mcarthur CHF Knox HFF Beleville
FP. Cornish FF. Ruffell FP. Mccabe
Ruck. Cuffe R Rover. Blade Rover. Choate
Bench; Waters, Cross, Fleming, Welsh, Detmann, Dorman

Moorcroft

Maybe that is the reason why Riddell are so good in this comp. If they had lost they would have been really disappointed - Wallen lose and it is high 5's and back slapping. Glad you proud however.

I think the House brothers would be fairly happy this week. The younger one dominated and Lancefield had a great win over Sunbury.

i didn't say anything bout high 5's and back slapping. i know ur weren't having a go but i think you've missed the point. for wallan taking the ladder leader to the very brink of a loss was in itself an achievement for a team that is sitting at the bottom. and of course riddell would have been disappointed if they lost they were playing last and they haven't lost a game yet!!!

You start to get proud of losing then it can be a spiral. Tell Rodney Eade that the dogs were great against the Cats and you will not get a good response.

You weren't playing the Riddell of the last 2 years. They did lose their best 5 players at the end of last year. 1 being the best forward in the league and 1 the best on baller in the league.

Regardless of what others have said, the Wallan that showed up on the weekend were committed to their game and started to show that they will be more than a handful for teams that would have thought before the week just gone that they were easy beats.

Did anyone not tip Wallen to make the top 6? They are last and post they are proud of a loss on the weekend. Surely it is not only me sctraching my head at this??
Even the RDFL football guru Matt Nichols tipped them to win the 2009 flag. Handful or not they have underachieved. You can point out their injury list and I can point out about their lack of depth. But end of the day the ladder is the only opinion that counts.

Was good to see Wallan put in a good game and put Riddell to the sword. Another 5 minutes and I think the result might have been different. Lets hope this is the start of a better season with some wins on board. A couple of injured players coming back and we back near full strength. Romsay got big pickup in Moorcroft. Will bring more spectators to games hopefully. Also good to see crowds getting stronger at games. Not many car parks left at Wallan last saturday.
I'll be honest here and say that if Moorcroft wasn't playing in my opinion Woodend would have got up, but I will stress that Romsey played like a team possesed, he gave them a massive lift. Once thay get Burlak back they will be hard to beat. And ur right about crowd numbers, there was a massive crowd at GG and even though I'm a hawks man, it was great to watch Moorcroft in full flight, well :)done redbacks. Great pickup for ur team and also for the league

Romsey have certainly picked up a gun recruit there in Moorcroft kicked 160 odd goals last year for Silvan and had been in good form in a not so strong side this year up until his departure. Dominated sides in the YVMDFL and see no reason why he won't do it over there. Have seen him play numerous times and every time is great he's an excitement machine

 look mate stop putting words into my mouth! i never said we were proud to lose, i said I was proud of the way we had a dip and was proud of the mateship we showed because up until saturday anyone who had seen us would say we weren't playing as a team. to tell u the truth i was absolutely gutted after the loss because i felt we had a chance to win and it slipped us by. by the way i am only one person having MY opinion so maybe u should stop saying WALLAN is posting this. Make sure u read everything before u comment on it because in none of my post do i say or even imply that i was proud of a loss just that finally we were doing things as the team we know we can be

Don'T worry about Kings pannui, he waits to pounce and has nothing constructive to add to this forum, i'm sure he has never laced them as he didn't understand what you were expressing about your feelings in a side which had been under performing, and when everyone had given up on your team ( reed last weeks selections) the team came out and did their best, but unfortunately came up short. You have got a positive out of your loss which is what counts. we were proud of the diggers in Gallipoli, did they win?

I might be wrong but I think the Redbacks still have B Wheatly and the coach to return . Both are handy footballers . Add Burlak to the mix and they are starting to look ok . They may even get back one or two that left the club earlier this year.
I heard a rumor that one of Moorcrofts AFL premiership team mates might also have a run in the rdfl .

This is not a crack at Burlak, because he has ability, but if the Redbacks are relying on him for team improvement they are kidding themselves. I can't remember the last time he has played six games in a row. In fact, I can't think of three games in a row when he has made an impact on a senior game. The last time he dominated consecutive matches was back in the Under 16s. The fact is his body lets him down time and time again. Don't know why he was made captain.

As for the coach, he'll be okay but can only pinch hit off the bench because of a lack of fitness. Bronson Wheatley only played 4 good games last year so will also have to step up.

The addition of the Silvan boys will probably see Romsey make the finals, but unless the likes of Burlak, Dawson, Harrison, Morgan, Carroll and Binney play consistent football all season, the Redbacks won't goo too far in September.

The one pleasing thing is to see they are blooding some kids - they went in with about half a dozen players aged Under 20 last Saturday.

Sorry to mis-interpret - I was sure you said that the weekends game (which you lost) was the highlight of your football career.

Nice analogy there pal, your becoming quite profound now in your dotage ! You weren't on the beach there in Turkey were you ?

Sorry Slyone - did you just link what Wallen did on the weekend to the diggers in Gallipoli?

yeah kings, i meant as in premierships etc.
Kings, the analogy is you don't always have to win to feel proud! The kid felt better after the game than he did in previous weeks, in a side which were under performing before last weeks game. the KIDS NOT EXCEPTING MEDIOCRACY, he was happy with the improvement from the playing group which he is involved with, that's all he was trying to get across, but as i said before, you wouldn't understand.

I'm sure he knew what yoos ment mate. I think he should have been a politician though, answers questions that were never asked ! But hey you gotta hand it to him, he does provoke interest on here.

Very very good player who unfortunately will be remembered as a thug, for all the wrong reasons.
Yeah he certainly ruffled a few feathers in his time in the RDFL.

Pretty sure he kicked 20 goals in a game once.

Any other league footballers to play in the RDFL in recent times ?

A. James, B.Fox, M.Werner come to mind
