Fitzy came from coaching the Under 16's.. Dont think these guys will stay anyway, even if someone else coaches.
Apparently Macedon has some dollars to chase some players for next season, For Meldrum, as far as I hear, its more about playing with his mates than anything else.

Does any club in our league have any confirmed movers into or out of the club for next year?

How much money is paid by an RDFL club each week to put its players on the field?

Who at your club is getting the most money per game?

Riddell and Centrals paid out quite a bit of money this year, couldnt confirm exact dollars though, Romsey pays their stars, but its not huge dollars, Morgan and Meldrum were $150 a week so im told.
Lee James would push the highest paid in the comp, so many wild stories about how much he gets its hard to actually know. The most interesting would be Diggers. Sims, Heritage, Laurie and Grey, even Ruane.. Wouldn't be as much as they are worth, but surely it would be a decent amount of dollars.
Next year will be interesting, see who has the dollars flowing then.

On Last Year....

Riddell - Gadsden, Playing
Romsey - Fitzgerald, Non Playing
Diggers - Hopkins, Non Playing
Lancefield - Jorgensen, Playing*
Centrals - Geddes, Playing
Kilmore - Ahern, Playing
Woodend - Barker, Non Playing
Kangaroos - Dixon, Non Playing
Macedon - Burgess, Non Playing
Rockbank - Smith, Playing*
 
Rockbank has a new coach who will be non playing. Wayne Mackie (coached Laverton last year). Have met him and seems really good. Good communicatorn and he has coached premierships before. Has a lot of experience coaching (i think 300+ as well as playing about 600 games). Should be exactly what the club needs? Met a couple of new players he will be bringing his son who seems pretty good and another guy from Taylors Lakes (seniors) both seem like top blokes.

Good to hear, ive heard there is a little money around at Rockbank... Is this true?

I think more for incentives so the theroy is if your playing well you will get paid more and the incentives will be voted on by the players.

Also getting a few KPP not sure of their quality but our team struggles for height.

The coach has a 2year deal but wants to be a long term prospect and build a side up.

We had a quick fix a few years back but it gutted our side when they left.

Didnt mind taking the money to play though...
Its the best way for the Rams, build from scratch starting this year.
What is Shirls and Saxon doing, they sticking around?

They will be around next year. I haven't heard of anyone leaving as yet. Hopefully the 18's coming up stick around. Ive heard some are going to try out in higher standard leagues which is fair enough but if that doesnt work out they will come back. I think once they meet the coach and see a lot of things changing on and off the field they will stay. Jason Welfare who won our 18's B&F has already said he is sticking around.
 
Hope for Rockbank's sake they do... Would be good to see the work some of the people at that club have done be rewarded.
Then again, hope Shirl's wants to come and play footy for us....

considering that rockbank didn`t do very well in the u/18`s this year and we can all admit that the league isn`t in one of its stronger era`s i cant imagine many of the boys doing to well in the higher leagues, so hopefully they all hang around and can lift the club!! sunbury should be a model for the rockbank club to follow.

Just on the James to Echuca rumour I just dont see Echuca paying him $800 a game when he was only a fringe player at Sunbury.Its all very well dominating the RDFL but he is not worth 800 in a top standard league.

Ive seen Lee James a few times, look pay him credit can get the footy, but in all serious there aint too many first class defenders in the RDFL these days. Blokes like Ricky Symes, Scotty Grainger and Saad Saad wouldn't get $800 in the GVFL so Echuca are setting themselves up for an embarrassing situation.

James was a backman at Sunbury, he is now a different player to when he was there, so the comparison is a poor one. He is now a key forward.
 
for the sake of the league we need james and many more like him to boost back the leagues credibility, in all honesty i beleive the league is getting stronger every year. i really hope that a side like rockbank can entice some top footballers from the western region.

James wont be in the RDFL next year, along with many of his teammates, to be honest, I think Kilmore will be the side to watch, especially if they hold on to Robertson and Rowe.
I have heard that Meacham is coming back to Riddell from Pascoe Vale, will be interesting to see. He is a better player than that.
