thats what i heard after the game on sunday. the hardest thing for riddell is that if he doesn't coach, then who would want to step in and take over a team that has just won a flag?

Heard they were chasing Hopkins from Diggers to coach them...

Do you think Rockbank Seniors would be a good coaching job to go for ?

Why do you ask rightfoot? You interested in something like that?

Diggers really only picked up Laurie and Heritage and they were not the classic "going for more money" signings. They have a very close group of mates down there that they went to play with so I couldn't see them leaving. They may get a few of the players who left the year before back.Talking guys like Hedges,Saliba,Marshall all of who were in there best 6 or so players.

Wouldn't surprise to see Riddells squad fall apart now as they have quite a few imports in there side but they do have some good 18s to come in.

Woodend will be a riser next season. They have some good kids and if they add a couple of good signings they will be right in contention.

the woodend club did a similar interview type process during the latter stages of the season with all of their young boys, the commitee has promised all the young fella's that if they all stay together at the club they will support them with everthing they've got in trying to provide some recruits with big bodies to protect and guide them through the year. It is going to be really intereseting to see how they pursue, rumour has it that Duff-Tyler from Gisborne has already been contacted.

Gee, would that be a huge pick up for Woodend if that happens.

Not to stop you or anything, but why would you not wait to see who coaches the seniors and give them an opportunity before leaving? Maybe start pre-season and see how it goes. There may actually be an opportunity for you guys to build something there at Rockbank, you guys could possibly be the beginning of the future for the Rockbank FC...

I think a few of the blokes don't have the passion to play on, I think a few will quit. A couple will stay at the club, and then there's a few who don't like the board/club. Though, I must say a few of the blokes who don't like the members and club are a bit Naive and pig headed. But you get that with 18 year olds.

Well, thats a bit disappointing for the club. But yeah, tell them to at least give the coach a chance, otherwise, tell em all to come down to training with us. More than welcome.

Yeah I'll keep that in mind. My mates wanna try out with Werribee, but quiet frankly they won't be good enough. So I'm thinking they'll do a pre-season there then look else where. Not too sure atm though.

Another great Best and Fairest night for our boys last Friday, a great night enjoyed by all, the steps this club has taken over the past 3 years makes me proud to be involved. Heres to another year of building bonds and strength.

I believe Riddell will lose some of their money men for next season,
it was only ever going to be a two season crack.
James, Gadsden, Peatling, Besanko - and Bellivelle has retired.
Half of the Riddell 18's who are bottom age will come into the Seniors next season.

Heard that the Bowen Medalist Lee James has been offered $800 a game at Echuca.

Shane Geddes thought about giving the game away after belting Meldrum in the 1st Semi Final at Woodend behind play, however as reconsidered and should the Centrals want to him to coach and play next year he will. Can't see Centrals getting rid of him after just one year. He has straightened out the place after the year before when Dewhurst was in charge, back then they were very undiscipline on the field at times with no respect for the officials.

Some interesting stuff there.. Knew James was offered big dollars up at Echuca and have heard he agreed, dont know if it is confirmed. Gadsden wanted to play closer to home in the WRFL.
The others apart from Peatling are a surprise, thought he might return to the WRFL, but where is Bomber off to?
Geddes should play on, at least coach, you are right, he did a great job with Centrals this year, and the same side with Soloma who will basically be a recruit, will be a fair side.
Heard Morgan will be enticed by Keilor, Meldrum's name has popped up around Macedon, would be a waste if he went there. Commerford is leaving, so Romsey will be depleted.
Woodend is looking at some young kids to carry them and heard they are chasing Duff-Tyler from Gisborne.
Rockbank have some money this year from what I hear and will be chasing some players.
Macedon is in the same boat, as are the Kangaroos, so the off season should be interesting.
Kilmore is retaining Ahearn, and most of the team, as well as trying to get Linton Kemp and Robbie Whittmar back, would make them an extremely strong side.

Doesn't surprise me that Boothy won the B&F. He was good both times Sunbury played Rockbank.

I'm not sure if I am even going to play next season. I have to have knee surgery, but there is a waiting list. I am not playing if I don't have surgery. I played in the final against Romsey and probably shouldn't have. I wasn't 100% and could only play forward. When I moved to the midfield I didn't have much of an impact.

Good player the kid, amazing that he had played his whole life as a full back this year.. Was put in the middle and well, the trophy proves a point I guess.
But Luke Smith was just as good this year... Senior KPP in the making... Believe it was won on the last votes of the night.

Rumour going around that Geddes wont be offered the job next year at centrals. Not sure how true it is.Pretty sure Meldrum plays cricket at Macedon so there could be something in that.Morgan has been linked with Diggers by one person I talked to.Could be rubbish.Would be suprised if Belleville retires as he is still fairly young and his form is good.James would not be worth $800 in the comp that Echuca plays in so you can pretty much discard that one.

Wouldnt be discarding the James rumour at all. Morgan wont go to Diggers, he wont stay in the RDFL at all I doubt, but Meldrum wants to play for Macedon from what I hear.
Any other movements anyone has heard?

Meldrum playing for Macedon? Unless Macedon are about to buy about 20 players why would a player of that talent bother?
Macedon weren't even paying their Senior coach, Paul Burgess last season. N

You'll find Romsey are looking for a new coach - or all the senior players will leave, which by some of these posts, if true already see Morgan and Meldrum out the door.
He didn't have the respect of the players, he's too soft on them is what l keep hearing. He came from coaching junior football, u14's straight into a senior gig.

The James rumour is closer to the mark then you think, and l can 100% confirm that Belliville is not playing next season.
