Angwin would be all about the dollars wouldn't he??? Not a chance for Kilmore if thats the case... Not a chance for anyone with any brains in this league anyway... Would just not be worth it.

Obviously havent been to Broadford Roge3? Lawrie had quite a season and everyone was happy with his input for the Roos - and Im sure he will play there again in 2006. He works with a few Kilmore blokes thats all, but as far as standards of football goes, HDFL is a bit ahead of the RDFL at the minute. If anything he should be going north to the GV not the RDFL

Thats the context I meant it Doona, would he come back to the RDFL when the better choices to where he is at at the moment would be to stay where he is, or go to the GV....

Good cricketer as well.He is certainly an intimidating man to look at.
 
Strong rumours are circulating around Woodend that a bloke by the name of Bruce Gonzalas has the coaching position. Apparantly played for Collingwood many years ago (dont know if he played a senior game). By all reports he could be the right man for the job, but dont know enough about him. Has anyone ever heard of him?

heard he's been up north a few years and won a couple of flags as coach not sure where. coached in ballarat league a number of years back

the reserves coach at centrals has not yet been reappointed after winning a flag, apparently chose to play senior players that qualified in the final and left out a couple of key committee men including the secretary,

Was that a bad move on his behalf as he wants the job again next year.

must be hard for a coach to coach his side with blokes that could determine his fate as a coach

That is poor...

A coach has to pick the best side available to him... If someone cannot handle the fact that they are not in the best side, then bad luck... Its a Grand Final... The best side available should be the side that is picked....

Thanks Blues 12. Daffy Fowler was the key forward hard man. His big presence, was a major factor in Woodend’s 2002 premiership. Another big factor was the fitness coaching of former coach Brendan Lee. Anyone know what happened to him?

Have heard that Woodend are speaking with Dave Fowler about a move from the DVFL to the RDFL.
Linton Kemp has signed with Wallan and won't be travelling further north to Kilmore, who are recruiting heavily I believe with tried and true players.

All I've been informed of is the players in question have been around Kilmore nad surrounding districts for years and aren't that bad. But time may have caught up with a couple.

Daff would be a good pick up for the Hawks..

Heard that Sammy Bowen was almost certain to leave the Hawks for a stint in the Ballarat Footy League..

Any truth?

Thats great news for our league. He's a quality player and the more we have of them the better. When will we see some quality defenders stand up in this league and take on the like of Leaping Leroy? The only one i have seen to have any success against him is Dale Joseph (Lancefield).

Surely Fowler is passed it by now. He was no more than a thug when he last played for Woodsy. Sammy Bowen would be much more of a loss although he went missing a bit last year when he got some attention

james will be staying because he knows that there are no quality backmen in this league that can stop him. put him in the edfl where there is plenty of talent and he will struggle to get a senior game.
Riddell are very lucky to have kept him as i heard that strathmore and greenvale offered him over 800 a game
