I kinda miss Sizzler

I'm pretty sure the last time we went to the one in Innaloo you could see where the termites were busily chomping away at all the wooden framing they had around the joint :tearsofjoy:

The GOAT when I was a kid was the all you can eat Chinese joint that was around intersection of Wanneroo Road/Amelia Street. I must have eaten half my bodyweight in sweet and sour pork there one time as an 12-13 year old.

All you can eat Pizza Hut was the best, included drinks and desserts too.

KFC Cannington tried the buffet at one point and me and some mates destroyed it. Went back a couple of weeks later and they changed it so you had to buy chicken pieces, then you had access to loser stuff like chips, potato and gravy and coleslaw.

Yeah was probably some pretty nasty stuff going on there which we didn't notice at the time.
I don't think I ever went to the Chinese place, wasn't in my area, I used to love Chinese from a food hall though, are there any still around?
I remember doing the Pizza Hut all you can eat buffet at the Pizza Hut near Cinema City in the middle of Perth once, that was great.

Ahh food halls, parents used to love taking us to the one in Vic Park. Had video games too.

The trouble with a decent buffet is that there is more choice than I can reasonably fit in my belly. Cruise ship buffets overcome this issue though. You can go for breakfast lunch, and/or dinner each day for a week and just try what you couldn't fit in last time.

The Atrium used to have Moreton Bay Bugs. Let's just say they let the wrong person find out about that.

I remember the last time we went the place was full of Cuzzy bros/huge islanders. Dad told us to enjoy it because the joint wasn't going to last too long. His words were...prophetic. I think it was shut within a couple of months.

I don't know anywhere trying to do all you can eat these days except for the buffet places at the Cas and there is no way you could get close to breaking even on the price they are.

I reckon covid put an end to most things like that

We still have an all you can eat Pizza Hut here in Toowoomba…

Lunch weekdays $16.95
Lunch weekends $21.95
Dinner $23.95

Drinks $4.95 unlimited

Sumiya Gin does a decent affordable buffet imo.

Are there any still in Perth like that which aren't in Crown?

I tell a lie. There is an Indian joint in Padbury which does/did a buffet. It was pretty bad last time we went though so we haven't been back since not long after covid.

Yeah I remember that one, was quite good.

There was an Indian buffet at the bottom of Greenmount hill in Midland for a spell, they couldn't keep up with the goat tray refilling.

****-in-door

Haven’t eaten there but picked up deliveries plenty of times

Rarely seemed to have enough people to justify a buffet and wondered how often they’d recycle what was in the trays or how long they’d stretch it out before discarding

When we were kids growing up in the 70’s Pizza Hut was a fine dining experience - before they started the all you can eat

Piping hot pizzas with melty cheese that would obliterate the skin at the roof of your mouth.

Don’t know what they did but the crust was so crunchy and there were pockets of air throughout the crust/ base

No pizza I’ve had since comes close

I do like hearing about the time before written history
