Re Comedy Writers Needed

Why would anyone write comedy in this country when there is a chance it could end up being slain by dave hughes or some other(there are hundreds)
pathetic,Australian comedians

Russel Gilbert,that vietnamese dude,carl baron,that dark haired chick that speaks like shes intelligent but isn't,.... the list goes on

Our comedians in general r the worst in the world.

Nothing against females, Jean Kitson amused me, Jane Turner and the other one who plays 'Kath' arent bad, Some of those that appeared on Comedy Company and Fast Forward also had some well delivered sketches.

The Doug Anthony all stars also were clever but occasionally missed the mark.

But for pure 'shut the telly off' factor Wendy Harmer is rated a 'hit the TV with and Axe if you cant find the remote'

I'm trying to think of a funny Aussie comedian? I laugh harder at this board than anything I see on tv. Andrew Denton, Mikey Robbins and Wil Anderson obviously don't post around here.

Still find it intriguing that the two funniest Aussies over the past 30 years have been Mark Latham and Damir Dokic.

What about Skit House, the Big Bite all classic comedy TV. And most recently the WEDGE, pure gold.

Here in OZ I would think our best comedy writers aren't the greatist stand ups. Take the Castle for example, loved that film and find some new subtle bit of comedy each time I watch it. But I don't think the writers would do much standing under the spot light on stage.
