Good to see, hopefully they are real people instead of targets.

I think that article makes it pretty clear that other players will be standing in the circles to mark the ball...

Let's see if Harve's uses his brain and implements this same test on his current squad. :thumbsu:

You would hope he had already knew who are the best kicks on the team....

Otherwise why does Mundy get a game every week.

Good idea... But the targets are stationery and so is the kicker. I guess a running kicker and moving targets are assessed by recruiters at the U/18's games.

no you must have misread, the players are given the ball on the run, and told as they are moving, which target to kick to, well thats how i read it anyway, maybe its me misreading it :o

"Players will have six targets to aim for at various lengths ranging from 20m to 40m and on either side of a field. They will have only one shot at each target, and won't be told which target to aim for until they receive the ball."

The test is near useless for recruiters as they'll have a v.good grasp of whether a guy is elite, good, average, bad or poor by foot from games, tapes and statistics etc... I think it was Choco and a few other coaches who pushed for a 'kicking test,' so it'll be mostly for the coaches benefit who haven't seen much / any of them play.

It'll make for good pointless crap for Dwayne Russell.

I had to do this when I was in state U14's, I nailed the ones on my left side but I had never kicked on my right before and royally f@cked it up.

Also had to run and bounce on both sides of the body. Have you ever tried running and bouncing with your opposite hand? I ended up looking like naitanui from a couple of matches back.
