I'm hoping that it's just part of the show, engineered for the big emotional payoff once he signs, lifting the boys a couple days before we play the Doggies, then again in another fortnight with Gov and the Cats, where we thump Jelwood then the scoreboard and announce that we're back baby!

Francis is the one being overrated here, done precious little to date to suggest he was worthy of his pick 5 to this day whereas Lever has proven he was a draft steal franked by his outstanding performance. There is a reason almost every other club is chasing him.....Francis however all duck and no dinner at this time....
Talented player but was always going to be a challenge building an elite athlete AFL body

Kind of reminds me of Hodge early days however when people were saying he's not a patch on Judd which he wasn't early

Still time for him to become a gun but he may not too

Wouldn't say he wants to leave, but definitely doesn't sound like he's "loyal" like he claimed he was at the time of drafting. He'll stay if the price is right, but that's it.

That's the modern game unfortunately, you'll have more players like that than like Tex and I'm sure the player managers encourage it since it usually means more money for them in the end.

Hate to say it but I do not have a good feeling after hearing that on 5AA... Massively non-committal, life decision I need to weigh up with my partner, never once said something like "get the deal done"... Danced around it and then killed me by saying "at the minute I'm playing for the Adelaide Crows" when Rowie asked about other clubs :(
So sounds like another club has made him a massive offer and he's made up his mind to leave or he's putting pressure on us to make a similar offer.

At the end of the interview last week, Rowie goes, ''ooooooh gee Jake, Im worried that a Melbourne club will put up a big offer that the crows cant get near, and then its bye bye Jakey''.
To which Lever said, ''no comment''.
Reckon thats a pretty accurate reflection of where things are at.

So he went to Melb in the bye to talk about his future with his family and GF. Was going to catch up with his manager but he was not in Vic at that time. Before that time he was saying it was CBA related.
Now after he gets back its "an important decision to make, need to get input from GF and family, might not be done sooner rather than later" and CBA had nothing to do with it.
Hmmm...

So Lever's excuse changed from "the CBA isn't done yet" to "it's a big life decision".

Any change in excuse is code for gone. Seen it all before.
Kinda, except the CBA was the reason that they hadn't negotiated not an excuse for not signing.
In the article on the AFL site he says that he will sit down with the club now that it's finalised.
If we're still having the discussion in 5 weeks we're dead.
