You deserve a big thankyou for posting and supporting our club. Without you we would be basketcase on this forum, you are our spiritual leader. The post you did on the thread about the Big 4 was excellent and we should sticky it on our board permanently to prove once and for all we are in this and Hawthorn arent. Do you want our pride diminished from us? We need to make it clear with a sticky thread or Big 4 status. The post is:

Richmond: 0
Games at the MCG (incl Home and Away games)

Gee, I wonder why our attendances were lower than yours?
Here are the 2008 stats in return.
Hawthorn played:
Collingwood: Twice at the G once on Saturday the other Friday night
Carlton: last round of the season at TD
Essendon: Once at TD, no surprise really when you see the last 8 H&A games between these 2 sides at the G have only managed to attract an average of 44,428.
Richmond played:
Collingwood: Once on a Sunday afternoon at the G
Essendon: Twice both at the G
Carlton: Twice both at the G
Friday night games:
Hawthorn: 3
Richmond: 0
Sunday Games:
Hawthorn: 7 - 3 Early games 4 Twilight games
Richmond: 11 Half our season played on Sundays - 2 Early games, 5 Twilight games
Games at the MCG (incl Home and Away games)
Hawthorn: 10
Richmond: 12
Hawthorns total attendance for 2008 H&A games: 910,679
Richmonds total attendance for 2008 H&A games: 934,972 +24,293.
Here are the average H&A crowds for the Hawks against the 4 teams they played in Tassie over the last 5 games they played in Melbourne and the numbers they got for this years Tassie games.
Crows - 25378 ave. This year in Tassie-15,124.
Bulldogs - 29249 ave. This year in Tassie- 19378
Lions - 27904 ave. This year in Tassie- 19929
Power - 19799 ave. This year in Tassie- 15682
Loss Crowd Numbers: 102330(potential crowd total by averages) - 70113(total crowd at Tassie games) = 32,217. Add that total to the Hawks 2008 total above and they would have totalled: 942,896 or 7924 more fans that Richmond did.
Hardly worth getting excited about really. I mean if top 4 Hawthorn, coming off a finals campaign the year before can only outdraw Richmond, the reigning wooden spooners, by less than 360 bandwagoners per game when they fail to make finals, what hope have the Hawks got of maintaining that when Richmond bandwagoners return once Richmond becomes successful again?
