why don't we just start rebuilding like in 2002 i think this time we have real talent. all we have to do is put prismall, selwood and stokes\djekerra\varcoe in the centre bounces and see how they go. play gamble and west for 5-6 round. you know we should just see if they have the potential we did it in 2002 with kelly, ablett, bartel and s.johnson why not do it again.

Kelly is one of the biggest disappointments going around. If only he had the desire of some of his Kangaroo counterparts yesterday like Archer, Simpson, Harvey etc.

SJ is in the same boat. We can talk all day about his 'talent', but thus far he is footballer who has played on reputation, hardly delivered and does not care enough about his football or the club. Why the hell have people kept waiting for Round 6? "Oh Steve Johnson's back". Even more dumbfounding, the people calling for him to be included before his suspension has been served.

Breaks the heart to think of rebuilding AGAIN.

No - we have a good list, they just need to be motivated properly. Thompson and King's days are numbered and should part with the club at the end of this season regardless of what happens between now and then. It's time we woke up to Kelly and Hunt too - these guys have zero heart. They axed Hunt last week, and Kelly should surely follow now.

Give SJ time, he hasn't had a chance to show what he's got this year yet.

Move the above four on and we'll be a better team for it.

We have given him time - he was drafted in 2001. Yet, he never learns a lesson and has let us down on so many occasions everyone has lost count.

I agree with you on this, however he's on our list for at least the rest of this season and he can't yet be lumped in with the rest of the team for this year's poor efforts (but I kind of fear he'll just add to our frustration pretty quickly).

We'll know after three games whether he's sorted himself out or not. I'm not a fan of SJ at all - for the reasons you outlined - but am willing to see if the team-imposed punishment has had an effect.

We need to test this list with a new coach before we can write it off and rebuild.

We are essentially the same team on paper that we were in 2004 and 2005 (the same core of players, at least).

The question must be asked, why have we not improved during this time? If anything, the skills of many players have gone backwards (Corey, Enright, Tenace, etc).

We have "chased" winning gameplans (first Brisbane, then Sydney, now West Coast) rather than play to our strengths.

We have been unable to successfully combat other teams playing the flood against us.

I'm quite confident that when we get a new coach, we'll see great improvement from a good proportion of our list. We'll also see which players won't be any good under any coach and they can then be cut.

Yep, with you there.

You couldn't have said it any better! Finding a coach who can help the team play to their strengths and get their maximum potential will be very valuable to the club.

I still see the older players (who aren't performing) with more potential. (except Steven King, sorry mate, your time is up).

It would be great, especially with Mark Blake (whom I used to bag out constantly, and I bet the rest of you did too LOL) rising to a whole new level this year.

I wouldn't think the team needs rebuilding per se but I would think a little clean up would be worth while. Charlie Gardiner I am talking about YOU!

Speaking of coaches, we have a brilliant young up and coming forward line, Nathan, Tommahawk Grima etc.

It is VITAL for the club to invest NOW in a DECENT forward coach who can develop players really well.

Ken Hinkley, a backman trying to coach tommahawk and nathan? sounds pretty silly if you ask me.

How can people bag Kelly.
He's done everything expected of him so far this year.
Get off his Back.
Hunt i can understand. I like him but could be heaps better

Because Selwood had more of an impact in one match than Kelly has had over the past few years combined.

I'd think about rebuilding the staff/management before I'd think about rebuilding the list, as of now.

That's not to say the list could do with a few changes itself.
