good thread and it will prove my point that i made on the other poll.

but after the drafts coming up you will be able to cross richmond and carlton off that currently rebuilding list, can't say the same for other teams though.

I think west coast the majority of their important players - cox kerr glass etc will still be around when the likes of Mckinnely, kennedy, masten etc develope fully and it looks as they will have more than a handy foward line so I'll go west coast - but really hard to say.

I'd hardly call Richmond or Carlton 'rebuilding' teams. Might be a bit of bias, but I can see Carlton winning before any of the others. Tiges will probably be up there with us, good times ahead.

"Rebuilding".

What a croc of shit. Has become an excuse for mediocracy and poor performances.

1. How many of those teams have actually "built" something lately that they are "rebuilding" back towards?, and

2. What is the definition of rebuilding? You do know that every team takes young players and constantly turn over their lists?

i'll answer that with this...

carlton have been looking like they've been rebuilding for a while now by this description.

btw, thats true, by rebuilding i did mean "teams that have been shit and are trying to get better off high draft picks"

It's called getting rid of all your older players and replacing them in the draft. In the last two years Melbourne has turned over around 13 senior players, many of them past leaders and great players of the club.

If you think it's a crock of shit you have no idea about football. We have one of the youngest lists in the competition and not only that but we are playing them, in fact when we beat you in round 14 we had the youngest side ever to play in a win (there was an article about it on www.afl.com.au shortly after the win).

Carlton are almost finished their rebulding stage, they have built something.

Hawthorn built an awesome list through rebuilding in the draft.

Richmond even have built a good list (could have been so much better if they drafted better).

blues will bust the salary cap again probably

richmond will keep finish 9th meaning another shit period where they get no finals but no chance at the best in the draft

so i will say blues tho still

The Tiges have been doing ineffective partial rebuilds (i.e. trading away draft picks cheaply, and choosing draft picks poorly) for much of the past 20 years. Hence the reason they always bounce between the bottom and 9th. Hard to call them a "rebuilding team" . For example they'll have 5 players in their starting 22 who'll turn 31yo or older next year (Richo, Simmonds, Johnson, Bowden, Brown). The so called Richmond "youth policy". lol. From that list the only teams that are doing a true rebuild are the Blues, Weagles, Dees, and probably Freo. The others aren't quite walking the talk. :)

it wasn't very hard at the time, i tried to make the options teams who have been doing crap lately and are trying to build to a premiership... and melbourne. to be honest i wanted an indication of when essendon will win a premiership next, hoping its before carlton

haah.. Just wait and see what happens, meen Time pick a team you Unlisted scum.

Richmond and Carlton will be serious flag contenders in about 3 years time. Sure, a lot of people will bag Carlton for not having the best list, with help from biased fans, but when our current list develops Carlton will be a major threat. Same with Richmond. But they will be hurt with their retirements.

Carlton are only a year into their rebuild, sure they've had numerous number 1 picks, but this was the first year that they've had direction and an actual plan.

It'll take another 5-6 years to delist all the duds from their list (Bannister, Cloke, Houlihan, Wiggins, Hartlett, Hadley, Pfeiffer, O'hAilpin, Bentick, Thornton and so on). You obviously can't do it all at once otherwise they'd need 35 picks in this years draft and with their track record of not identifying talent deeper than pick 1 in the draft, the Blues will be wallowing for quite a while.

No point asking parrot, Carlton are going to win the next 100 premierships. :thumbsu:

Carlton. We have clearly the best midfield, a backline thats improving rapidly and Fev. We now have Warnock so it leaves us with Kreuzer/Cloke rotating through the forward line. I'd say Richmond are next in line to challenge in a couple of years, MUST improve forward line.

Carlton have just about finished their rebuilding mode actually. And I voted Carlton, no surprise there either.:thumbsu:
