- This documentation is replicated from old messageboards associated with the footypedia website. The website's back up, but I won't be supporting the messageboard system.
- This list may already be duplicated on Bigfooty, on this very forum. I'm just tranferring data. If there is a duplicate, add a link here and we can work on a process of integration.

Some new additions:

15 - Kevin Higgins - Geelong FL v Mornington Peninsula - 1982
10 - Tom Clarke - VFA v Western District FA - 1913
10 - Fred Cook - VFA v Greater Northern FL - 1982

It was reported in the NT News 08 October 1975 (Dennis Booth's "Stab pars")
that the NT side did well at the Aboriginal Championships in Tasmania

Their biggest win was 39.20 to 6.6 over Queensland
"Darwin's Koochi Raymond kicked 19 goals in that game and not one behind"

Thanks for this data. I have included the instances I did not previously have within my previous post and have bolded them, although I was unsure what to do with the 20 goal instance of Jack Metherall. Does a club playing a league constitute an interleague game? When it is two distinct leagues or states it is clear cut. Do you know the circumstances behind the game? Was it a preseason practice game? I am happy to include it if you or enough other people feel strongly that it belongs in the list.

When you read about Jack Metherell his 20 goal effort is mentioned. Geelong were on a end of season trip when the match was arranged.

HUGE SCORE BY GEELONG August 5, 1937

Metherell's 20 Goals At Scottsdale

The visiting Geelong footballers scored a hollow victory when they played a combined North-Eastern team at Scottsdale yesterday. The match did not attract the support expected, though a half-holiday was proclaimed at Scottsdale and in some of the surrounding localities. A feature of the game was the huge score registered by Geelong and J. Metherell's contribution of 20 goals. Tho efforts of the North Eastern players wore, In the main, individual and lacked the cohesion and purpose of the visitors, but after they settled 'down, they were not afraid of the Victorian League side.
Mahon, Howard, Foley and Helmet* replaced L. Hardiman, F. Hawking, J.Sellwood, and J. Evans in the Geelong
side, which won in Melbourne last Saturday.' The North-Eastern team was led by H. Hanson, the former Launceston forward. The gate receipts were £33.

Metherell was in grand form in front of goal, and his leading out to accept the passes from team mates was splendid. He scored three goals in the first quarter, five in the second, 11 in the third, and only one in the last. He left the ground after he had kicked his
20th goal, and Muller took up the full forward position for a time.
After halftime, Hickey, the Geelong captain and full-back, spelled on the halt forward line. He place-kicked a splendid goal in the last quarter.
Metherell was the star player of the afternoon because of his uncanny anticipation, and deadly accuracy. Hickey marked and kicked soundly, and showed plenty of pace. The youthful Helmer took several spectacular marks, and launched several Geelong attacks with long punts. '
One of the best displays for the North-Eastern team was given by the full-back, Whitmore. He often spoilt Metherell in the air, and his kicking in was a feature. Gregory, H. and S. Hanson, Laughton, Steele, and Barkley also were prominent at times.
Quarter scores:1st 2nd 3rd 4th Pts.

The Geelong party returned to Launceston last night.
