Guy crashed his horse into me. Said he'd fillet me. So I shot him, as is the style at the time. But then, despite it being midnight, two other dudes came out of nowhere and started shooting at me! So I took care of them, threw one of their bodies into their own campfire. Suddenly there's a witness and this was supposedly "murder". Whatever. I fled.

I wonder if wearing your bandanna stops you from being recognised.
..

Sounds fair to me....lolz....

whats the problem sir...

This is the first game I've.played where there is a genuine consequence to being nice or bad ass....both are good fun

What a shit game. Theres no point even holding the controller. It's just long stretches of movie/cut scenes, then you get prompted to do something -- search a room for items to store, or to start a gunfight. Then back to long stretches of movie/cut scenes. Rinse and repeat. The movie scenes are very long and long-winded, the prompted moments are short, leading you to another movie scene. I stopped bothering to hold the controller. Started doing other things while waiting for the next prompt.....cutting my toe nails, making the bed, tidying the room, replying to emails and text messages, doing my taxes, etc.

For THOSE types of games, story-based, people who enjoy it. For people who like to actually PLAY a game, who wont enjoy it, early eb games return.
I assume this will be your last post on the topic as you take the game back and for something else, anything else would be just crazy at this point

Cracked and bought it. Wont be able to play until Tuesday. Family shit to do. Bastards.

30% downloaded. At what stage do you need to switch discs?
Happened at about 54% on the Xbox One X for me

After getting my bearings with the game, I've begun a 1st person playthrough, building around a character who is honourable but takes no shit from the O'Driscolls or anyone that goes against the gang.

First trip in the first city..... BAM! One things leads to another...... $117 bounty on my head :(

I remember playing Gun on PS2 and in my head RDR 2 was the game I was picturing always wanting play.

Nothing better than antagonizing some campaigner which leads to a gunfight between them and some other random campaigner.....and then hightailing it :D

Did that with an O'Driscoll... he shot at me, I head shotted him. I got accussed of murder and chased out of town! Damn O'Driscolls!

The game is brilliantly made, graphics, story, etc. But it comes down to genres. Some people like those story-driven cut-scene driven games. Some people don't. RDR2 is one of those games but there's too much of it. I'm still going to persist with the game longer, but I am not really enjoying it. Tear the hype away, all that built up anxiety/anticipation for RDR2 and another Rockstar game. And look at it from a "it is what it is" pov.....there's nothing really brilliant going on. It's the same thing.......long-winded cut-scene/story, the only engagement with your controller and the world itself is looking for things in drawers and rooms to replenish your life, to re-arm yourself, jigsaw pieces to flesh out a map/diary, and, engaging in sporadic gun-fights. That's it so far.....running around a huge open world for pieces, and engaging in gun-fights. Whoop-di-do.

I think The Last Of Us 2 is going to be a more brilliant game....controls-wise, story-wise, open world-wise, pushing envelope-wise.
I think yesterday I spent 4 hours between missions or cutscenes at one point

I think your going to see a lot more cutscenes per time spent playing TLoU2 than in red dead, there wasn't even that much at the start and i only get them when doing missions. Could play for hours and not see one, don't think that will happen in TLoU2.

TLoU2 will be open world, thats new news to me and disappointing if true.
I absolutely love the TLoU and it is my favorite game of all time, i rate it even above any movie i have ever seen and have no doubt that i will enjoyTLoU2 more than rdr2, i just like story driven linear games more than open world.

Got $2000 from finding a treasure. Any camp upgrades worth it? Besides the fast travel one

Totally changes the game when you find this treasure early on.

2k ( 4 Gold Bars ) is a massive amount and allows 99% of all the camp upgrades you need and still allows money to splash at the gunsmith buying holsters and upgrading weapons and ammo.

Heaps of traveling involved to get the 3 different Maps but totally worth it. :thumbsu:

Game sure starts slow, assuming it picks up after a couple of hours?

Picks up and opens up when you finish chapter 1 and get out of the snow.

Kind of pinning for the snow again though. Apparently there is no area in game with snow and a town, which is a little disappointing.

I intend to persist with it more, but im just saying far too much cut scene going on. It better improve or i will return it.
