What a weird match this is turning out to be! 20 wickets day one, SA batting comfortably for 3.5 sessions since. Perfect time to be bowling last too with Pope and Manenti on a wicket that should break up a bit.

Not the smartest end to the innings there, Scott left some out there even with Pope at the other end. Was nothing surer than Scott scoring a 50 in this match after last week when I (rightly) criticised he’d only scored 3 previously… he and Nielsen somehow finally coming good with the bat when the team actually needed it means they’ll somehow keep their spots in that top 7 for another couple of years.

You could win the lottery and you'd find a way to complain.

Jeezus 🙄 who’s complaining? just pointing out after after toughing it out with his best knock in SA colours, it was a pretty dumb run out that ended it. It’s also that rare he’s actually in the runs I actually felt bad for him he couldn’t make the most of it.

Then play the current 2nd and 3rd sides. We will still have to win at least 1 of our last 2 matches.
SA are currently 1 game + 1.3 bonus points clear on top of the table.

If SA beat Tas, Vic lose to NSW, and QLD lose to WA - all of which appear likely results based on the current game situations - then SA would be 2 games clear, with 2 to play.

SA could (theoretically) lose both of their last 2 matches, and still finish top of the ladder - depending on the bonus points.

Note also that while Vic & QLD are currently 2nd & 3rd on the ladder, they will be shuffled down to 4th & 5th if (as appears likely at present) they lose their current matches.

Vic are currently 2nd on the ladder - they're currently 5/33 in their 2nd innings, needing another 198 to win.

The QLD/WA game is closer. QLD are currently 4/131, needing another 34 runs to force WA to bat again. Any result is still possible in this game, though a WA win would appear the most likely outcome at this time.

** Scores taken from cricinfo, which is often well behind the live action in their reporting.

Vic 3/24 chasing 231

Qld 4 down with 50 still needed to make WA bat again
Cricinfo currently showing Vics at 5/46, still needing another 185 to win; QLD now 6/131, needing 34 to make WA bat again.

QLD has lost 2 quick wickets, which has made their task much harder. At 4/131 they were looking OK. At 6/131, things are starting to look desperate.
