Third quarter run and gun pleasing, skills to match!
Agree with this except the bit about not becoming as good as murphy. I think with experience and confidence, he could be anything. He has the attributes. That tackle he laid (2nd or 3rd quarter?) was actually one of my favourite moments of the game. I thought he improved from last week. I don’t expect him to be amazing or at the standard of Nathan Murphy, but if he plays his role each week he will be fine, then Howe and Moore will do the rest.

That’s a big call. Murphy was only just hitting top gear when his career came to a premature end. Murphy was just starting to hit that elite level, and we would have one premiership less without him. If Reef gets near to Murphy’s quality that will go someway to easing the pain of losing one of my favourite players.Agree with this except the bit about not becoming as good as murphy. And he's still in education mode. The more he plays, the more he'll understand his role and the better he'll become.Same thing as last week, he's not giving away in free kicks from panicking in a contest. He's halving contests and positioning himself well for the most part.
No idea what happened with him and the Willie Rioli goal though I haven't watched the replay yet
2 games inMost confident I've seen him at afl level
The non paid park when he dives back gave me great confidence in him
Rioli knows his way around a Reefer so thats unfortunateThat was pure Rioli brilliance.
Pretended to run forward at the ball, Reef was readying for a tackle.
Instead Rioli let the ball run on - bang.
Just play him2 games in
He’s only guna improve. I remember Bruzzy and Moores early days down back and thinking they were useless.Just play him
Thats just experience. He'll learn a lot of those kind of moments. That was pure Rioli brilliance.

He's just gotta compete in the air, spoil against these big blokes. Make them work for it. Wont always be perfect, but he'll have support. Two big match ups coming up for Reef in the next couple. Will probably get Naughton next week and then McKay against Carlton... Then hopefully gets a little easier with Swans, Lions, Essendon the next three.

Did well. Couldn't ask for better tall match ups though. Georgiades and Lukosius are really ordinary in a physical contest. Tougher games to come. Hopefully he continues to hold up. Looks like he's going to get a difficult range of opponents - from slippery smalls to powerful talls. You need a couple like Bruzzy and hopefully Reef who can play small or tall. He's just gotta compete in the air, spoil against these big blokes. Make them work for it. I feel like for those two games, we need to get Howe to find a way to play a little more as a third man up in support, and even Cameron to play defensively deeper than he usually does to provide his intercept contested marking in the D50.He's just gotta compete in the air, spoil against these big blokes. They played him on a range of players through pre-season. Cox. Mcstay. Membrey. West. Probably for situations where he'll come into opponents bigger, smaller or taller than him, so he knows how to mix up how he plays.Did well. Couldn't ask for better tall match ups though. It's been proper smalls too the first fortnight. It's surprised me. I shouldn't be surprised though as we do tend to set our defensive grid and the players they play on changes as the opposition shifts their blokes around. They played him on a range of players through pre-season.
