Hi All, first post with you guys for the year and aren't your boys flying.

A tad surprised the GWS game is so close.

Good luck for the year as it looks to be a fairly lop sided comp this year with Tuggers, Belco and Qbn not on the pace. Unsure about Eastlake ATM.

Swans, GWS for the final.

It's been close but looks like GWS have run out of steam. Swans by 9 goals not long to go.

Parker and LRT are getting a lot of wraps from Soph and others. White hasn't impressed while nothing on Bevo.

Parker was my best in ground
Won by 60
Shocking first half by both teams and at one point gws had the upper hand
We lacked midfield pressure but dominated when gws ran out of ticker
Was hard to judge who kicked our goals as they were all kicked up the other end
Dennis lane kicked a couple white was good but went missing
Currie played down back with lj being coached by dew on the side lines
Happy with the result will write more later

Sydney Swans 1.2 3.7 6.11 12.15 (87)
GWS Giants 1.3 2.6 3.9 3.9 (27)

Hi Yall Back from the Game!

Interesting is how idd discribe todays game! Im not sure if either team was ready for such an early game and in such cold conditions (though the weather fined up throughout the game)

I couldn't believe the football both teams were playing in the first half sloppy kicking, marking and hand balling especially for us! We were being hammered in the middle and lacked no midfield pressure and during the 2nd quarter for a good 15 minutes the game was played in GWS forward 50 and we couldnt even get the ball out through stoppages!

How ever as the game wore on and GWS lacked the ticker to run out the game we headed off with a good strong lead! Hitting up targets and running the ball well through the middle with the exceptional work of Luke Parker!

My Best on Ground: Luke Parker this kid has got it all Marks well in the air has great pace and will put his body on the line to smother a tackle great at kicking for goal! Really impressive and will be very close to a game!

1 MARK SEABY: I liked his game today but i dont know what hes going to do to get himself back in the game! Rucked the whole game and marked and lead well but not his best game!

8 TRENT DENNIS-LANE: Stayed in the forward line today and was quiet to begin with but did pop up through out the 2nd half and kicked i think was 2 goals! He's surely got to come in the side i feel we are lacking forward pressure and a sneaky small forward like Dennis-Lane would be good!

10 DANIEL CURRIE: I watch him closely and this i feel was not his game! He lacked forward pressure and sticking the marks how ever a switch down back with Lewis Johnston seem to work marked well and kicked well to team mates! But that was it for Cuz :[

18 JESSE WHITE: Provided a good target up front kicked 2 i think but apart from that he didnt do alot ran around a whole heap but yeah not his best

22 BYRON SUMNER: I didnt even know he was playing because i didnt see him till the 4th quarter he runs the ball well but cant judge much on his game because i didnt see much of him at all!

23 LEWIS JOHNSTON: Started out poorly and was getting coached by Stewy Dew on the side line telling him to help out team mates and push up! But How ever his best came during the 2nd half when we were dominating and was able to push up the ground he covers the back half well and marks well but this week i think was his chance to playing and will miss i think because today wasnt his best! but reading the best's the coaches seemed to like him!

26 LUKE PARKER: Read Above comments for BOG this kid is all class and solid has to get a game soon i think he'd be a great replacement for Jack

27: MATTHEW SPANGER: Played forward runs a fair bit may have kicked a goal but didnt catch his game dont think he'll play any time soon

28: DYLAN McNEIL: Would be my 2nd BOG hes a tough little nut and will work himself into pack to get the ball out classy with his foot skills and marks strongly i think he kicked a goal

30 LRT: was great for us when we were playing the shitty first half footy and saved us from a few goals being kicked! He should play next week if needed did drop off a little towards the end but was Handy

36 CHRIS McKAIGUE: Hes good but hes not that good he works hard and communicates well with his team and trys to take on the game but is a long way off hes still developing! Gave away a silly free but thats Chris!

42 BEVAN: Was more useful than Jesse for the dropped players! He made a good pressure down back and marked the ball under pressure lays up his team mates well but idd give him another week or two

43 EUGENE KRUGER: Again didnt see much of him hes got pace which we need

44 MAX OTTEN: Developing nicely but quiet compered to last week he marks well over head

45 BEN HAREN: Sorry paid no attention to ben

TOP UPS:

I didnt know their numbers and the record had them as others but they worked hard today and helped us get away with the win!

Its not a Grimlock Report but i feel this game was only won in the 2nd half but ill tell u what give GWS another year and their younger kids will be great some have good pace and can play very well i was impressed!

Think Grim said we have Gold Coast next will be great to see really what level we are at!

Also Jed Lamb out with a Hammy

Great report Soph.

Looks we have another winner with Parker. It will be hard to see him getting into a winning side though.

When you said Currie did a swap with Johnston, did you mean that Johnston played forward for a bit too?

Sad to hear about Jed, I feared he was injured once he wasn't named for the reserves. What about all these ninja injuries!

Thanks Soph do we know the extent of Lamb's hammy was it only mentioned that he had done a hammy. Looking forward to both Parker and Johnston getting called up soon :)

Just quietly I'm very excited about the upcoming match against the GC reserves. On the weekend they had the following playing for them, you'll be hearing a lot about them in the next 3 or so years

Update: Saturday's Ressies gams has been moved from the SCG to Lakeside Oval still starting at 1.50pm. The Swans were advised it was best not to play three games on the same ground on the same day! This is due to the foxtel cup being the curtain raiser to the main game! Grim and i have to go old school again and get out the pen and paper to do the scores and goal kickers! We will update our twitters and facebooks with game day stats and live updates

It's your turn to score!

At least it won't be raining (hopefully!) and we can sit down during the breaks. I was pretty buggered and cold after the last game, needed a piping hot coffee after it to get me going again.

wanna meet earlier and we can get a coffee before we head over?

Ohhh and im shocking at adding hahahaha oh well we did ok last time

1 goal equals six, add a point it makes seven and so forth. You'll be right Soph, a few stiff drinks instead of coffee.
We missed one behind for each team. We'll have to do better this time.
