Why is Spangher rated so highly, he's only another Playbad, a battler who gives a bit of a back up.

I don't rate him that highly. It's just if Reid comes out, I imagine Spangher comes in to play CHF. I don't really expect him to kick a lot of goals, which is why I said it'd be time for Goodes to step up.

Reserves are playing giants reserves next week as the curtain raiser to the GWS v Port game. This means I'll have to buy a GWS ticket  I hope baja can forgive me

I am sure they will probably have to be giving out tickets to next weeks game just to avoid an empty stadium :P

Mitch Morton, former West Coast and Richmond played recruited by the Swans this year who hasn’t managed to break into the AFL ladder leaders top side, kicked nine goals to spearhead the visitors’ win.

On a quarter-by-quarter basis Morton kicked 2-2-3-2, and although he didn’t really dominate the match his scoreboard contribution in a side minus some of its better performers was enormous.

Sounds very promising for Mitch! Great news. I'd love to see him get a call up. He's been performing all year and deserves his chance. He's too good for reserves and I believe he's worth the risk for the swans. All those who say he won't do the defensive things should be prepared to give him a go. It's a good situation for him to be in to prove the doubters wrong. He's earnt one final chance at senior footy. He's in good form and he's fit. It's up to him how he performs ofcourse but atleast don't deny him a chance that he's well and trully earnt!

He's fit ! he's had 1 game back from injury. We don't need him at this stage.

I know I usually say not to pay any attention to how the lineup is named, but looking at that squad again, I note that only 2 of the 7 on the extended interchange (seniors) are named in the starting 18 in Gordon and Morton. So this could possibly mean they are the 2 playing in the reserves tomorrow with the other 5 flying to Melbourne (including traveling emergency).

If Rampe plays watch him he has been killing all year in the SFL for UNSW! He can play spent 3 years at Williamstown. He can play and runs all day!

What does he look like? Without the help of jumper number it's hard to know which topup he is.

Blonde hair solid build good suntan as well. He is hard at it. You wont miss him. Good to see Lewis Broome back in as well if he plays that is!

Can anyone explain why Gordon is the travelling reserve if he has any chance of playing? He might have had a good game last week but has not done much in the previous 2 months by all reports. Meanwhile Armstrong has played a few decent senior games and Morton has kicked 60+ goals in the past 10 games

Still seems like they're dicing with danger to me given Goodes could roll an ankle, Mummy could pull his back or Ted could ping a hammy in the warm up and we'd be forced to replace any of them with Gordon.

We could have five players do their ACL in the warm up, so should we bring 10 travelling emergencies just in case?

I believe the suggestion was more along the lines of having at least one tall emergency.

Of course not, but it would seem logical to me to have a more senior and versatile emergency on hand than Gordon (I know has played in most positions in the reserves before but has very little senior experience). I would always err on the side of taking a tall as the travelling emergency.

Well White - the only Ressies player I can think of that approaches meeting that criteria - wasn't even an emergency so that shows how highly they rate his ability to step in. Was reading an article on Pyke before and it sounds like if Mummy doesn't pull up it'll be Pyke and LRT in the ruck so they'd just shift the forward line around a little anyway.

Fair enough, then maybe that shows their level of confidence in both Mumford and Goodes playing. I was more responding to the 'if so and so injures themselves in the warm up' part of what he was saying.
