The more Morton misses out, the more I am convinced he was never going to play this year. A year in the ressies was probably the proviso. Could be wrong, and no doubt he will now play this week and make me a fool.

Something which has always puzzled me is reading Horse's section on Morton's Swans profile
"We drafted him because… he’s a creative forward. We didn’t have many natural forwards on the list "
"In 2012 we want to see… Certainly if he can play his role, his natural talent will get him a game every week if he values what we value in the forward line."

Horse seems adamant about players being versatile enough to play more than one position but it seems that the principle reason for trading for him in the first place was the complete antithesis of this.

I don't necessarily think Morton is required to play more than one position (although if they can play other positions it is ideal), he just needs to run both ways and provide defensive pressure.

So he is a creative forward.... who is lazy and selfish.
If he can play his role... and defend as well as attack as necessary. Also has to have the necessary work ethic to succeed in our game plan.

If he values what we value... playing for each other, relentless defensive pressure. Needs to be more selfless.

I don't think there is any confusion in his words at all. He is a natural creative forward that "needs work".
