Does anyone actually care for this game now that multiplayer is only 8 vs 8 and the co-op mode is gone?

It went from a day one to a meh when it's on sale one day.
Co-op not there is the real killer for me.

Since I just got my PS3 and I need to grow my library... do many people still play Resistance 2? It looks pretty fun and I was thinking about picking it up.

Never played Resi 2 co-op and therefore couldn't give a fat rats clacker about it not being in this game. Most of the hardcore Resi 1 players I know feel the same way.

Resi 2 was a very ordinary game. If they bring back one hit and online game customisation then the once very large Resistance community will return.

They brought back campaign co-op but they removed the best part of Resistance 2 (which was the progressive cooperative mode).

The campaign is looking absolutely phenomenal.

It's ditched the whole military mentality and has gone into basically a survival horror game. Also being written by an actual writer and not just someone apart of the Insomniac team. They'll have had 3 years to work on the campaign and that's more than most devs get for a story.

There will be campaign co-op, may not be as consistently fun to play through over and over again, but will never say no to a solid campaign co-op mode.

The best thing about Fall of Man's MP wasn't the amount of players for mine, it was the tactical nature, the amazing maps and the endlessly customisable offerings. 2 of those can quite easily be in there in tactical and maps, although the customisability will be dulled it will have something there. It was always awesome to play epic 40 player battles, but generally, I only played 16ish player maps (as that was what the best games were suited too).

Will wait for the beta to pass judgement on how good the MP will be.

Do you order extra of all those editions or is it more of a case of canceled pre-orders?

U would think that your gaming enthusiast will pre-order if they want it, but your everyday gamer would just buy the standard edition.

I don't order anything. It gets allocated from head office. The extras they find always get allocated to the bigger (sales) stores as they are more likely to move it

A few are left overs from orders not picked up

A few are just the DC finding them in a corner and go, hey lets send this out and get it out of our hair

I think the reaosn i have recently got a lot of old collectors is due to the DC being moved into one mega factory in QLD. So i am sure they have found stuff hiding that they couldn't find.

Reading impressions and 99% of them read the same, the boat level is extremely boring, the graphics are really bad (including a lot of jaggies), gunplay is pretty average.

Read about 4 or 5 different sources on the asian demo just now and the vast majority said the demo looked really good. Amazing in fact. Especially considering how far out we are from release. Only need to look at the E3 demo to realize the game is looking very solid from a graphics point of view.
