I said Rich. I hope we get Rich at pick 3.

NicNat second grabs around half the time when he hand;es the ball and has a shocking kick.

He'll be a star in the ruck but a spud around the ground.

You have the "potential" of NickNat and the "known" skill of Rich.

That's pretty much it.

If NicNat comes good, he'll quite likely be the best in the draft, and those who took players before him will look a bit stupid, but there is a sizeable 'if' there, and with top picks, most teams will lean towards the 'sure thing' ( relatively ).

Kinda similar to a kid named Franklin a few years back.

And I'll lay bets that as many people will be wise after the event if he does come good :)

the problem is that both bring different thing to the table. rich kicking and ball winning ability makes your team better offensive. nat superhuman ability makes your team better at the contest and defensive.

in the end you cant teach height. i'll go with nat, but happy to get either one.

Dan Rich is the man for the job, far less risk compared to the unknown in Naitanui - Rich would be that missing link in the midfield that takes it from being a 4-6th ranked midfield all the way up to a potential 1-3 ranked midfield in 3 years time.

Naitanui in the ruck can't do that.

Not sure that makes a lot of sense really. You seem to be just plucking a few figures out to be honest. The midfield is at least half a side and then depth to cover injuries and form below that. You are saying Rich "would" move you from 4 to 6 midfield rank to 1 to 3 in 3 years.

How is that "midfield" going to look in 3 years time if Cox is injured or on the wane and Seaby is gone?

How is that midfield of Rich, Masten, Priddis, Ebert, Kerr etc going to look for leg speed on the big Subi ground? At least Rich has the kicking penetration to make up for a lack of out and out acceleration. What has shown out this year a bit is that Kerr can be locked down on and when that happens WC look slow. Embley is the only real genuine ball carrier who can break the lines.

WC will not have a problem winning the ball in close if they go with Rich to add to what they already have. But not sure teams wont run them off their feet off half back and spread and concede an extra few clearances and hope to win it back with superior numbers behind the ball. Then make it a foot race on the rebound.
