forgive my ignorance, but does anyone know what is going on with Richard Cole?

A mate tells me he is really struggling down at VFL level at the moment..

Has anyone seen him play? It would be a pity if he didn't make it back to the big time becuase he did have one impressive season for us and looked like taking he next step..

Has struggled with injuries this year.

His disposal is very ordinary and imo won't be at the club next year

I gave up on him after watching the WC practice match...he's crap.

I think you should all reserve judgement until he plays a few senior games... thats if he plays any.

Looks like he's done all he can this year training wise to get on the park but has been unlucky.

If he's not in contention for a senior spot within 3 rounds then he's in trouble.

He's way down the pecking order list at EFC now.... you would think.

I don't even give him a thought to being part of our side. I'd rather see Danny Chartres get a senior game than Cole:eek:

What's 3 rounds going to do that hasnt been determined already? He doesnt fit into our team and isnt part of the direction we're heading. He's a lazy footballer who was given a lifeline by us and hasnt convinced anyone he's prepared to work harder than ever before. He's gone.

3 more rounds will give him the fitness base and confidence to push for senior selection.

He did do his hammy and had a niggle with his knee.

According to all reports he has been training really well and working harder than ever so needs to be given a chance.

What direction are we heading? He's got pace, can win the contested ball and looks like he can play the modern game if we can get him right. He wasn't give a lifeline. Collingwood wanted to keep him but he wanted to play for us.

He's a top 20 draft pick in a super draft and finished top 5 in Collingwoods B&F.

I recall a young Chris Johnson struggling with form and fitness at the lions early on but managed to turn things around.

Why are we so critical with guys that have come to us from other clubs?

We would do better offering our chances in the back half to Welsh, NLM and Lee and I certainly cant see Cole laying any claims in the middle, so where does that leave him? On the bench?? We have Houli, Gumbleton, dare I suggest Bradley and any one of JJ, Dyson, Campo and Winderlich to perhaps fill those spots. Looks like Cole would have to be content with a spot as an emergency from what I can see.

kelvin - it is simple..... you leave OTHER clubs for many reasons - some prove themselves instantly, McPhee, Barnard, Wellman, Barnes, Denham etc but some just confirm why their original clubs were more than happy to see them depart for reasons of wanting 2 or 3 years, too much money, poor performance, team balance and structure.

I can strongly confirm that Cole and Camporeale are firmly in that boat......... absolute rubbish that needs to be taken out !!!!!

SAY NOT TO CAMPO 2007

Cole at his best would be better than Welsh and NLM at their best. Whether he can get there again is a different story.

There is no way known that Bradley, Dyson and Campo should be in front in the pecking order.. especially Dyson.

Hopefully he can get his body right and play a few games so we can see if he'll make it with us.

Hopefully if he plays a few games you guys don't jump down his throat on every mistake because "he came from another club"

Chris Johnson had established himself as a talented player over a few seasons with Fitzroy.

Cole had 1 good season from memory only
Their is no doubt he has worked very hard, but he is injury prone and unfortunatly, like so many at our club, his disposal is very ordinary.

My assessment is not based on where he came from, but what i have seen

Is that you Richie Cole? No offence Richard but I watched you against Sandringham at Windy Hill and you made me physically ill with your poor disposal and softness at the footy

His recruitment was a mistake. Hope is all you have, because the ability is debateable

forgive my ignorance,
Hey we drafted the dud, that's ok.

Richard Cole dosen't know what is going on with Richard Cole.

Struggling would indicate some form.
Has anyone seen him play?
Yes. With us and when he was with you lot. It was about as exciting as looking into the sun and masturbating with a cheesgrator, at the same time.

Ha ha ha. Rub it in!

Kelvin mate I don't understand where ya coming from when you stick up for Cole and then you go and say how bad Dyson is and how he shouldn't get a game.

It's simple. Dyson has had plenty of chances at senior level and has not shown anything.

Cole had chances at Collingwood and has shown the ability he can play at the top consistently - top 5 B&F.

He hasn't had any games with us due to injury albeit he has himself to blame for being really underdone last year.

I am willing to give him a chance like everyone else should.

His last 2 games in the VFL have been poor. He's looking fitter than last year, but if his form doesn't improve drastically and soon, it's game over.

Some are just hopeful that he can turn it around. There's nothing to suggest he will, but plenty indicate its over for Cole...at Essendon at least.
