I like this deal. Tambling is only 24 and would slot straight into our side which would save us trying to blood another young player through.

Yep good point.

While I'd probably prefer Foley (in terms of pacey players that Richmond have, but obviously not gettable), Tambling in a new environment could be seriously good, and we need the speed.

So long as it's for the right price ONLY I'm happy.

I would think Richmond would be pretty happy to get pick 23, 41 and Blake for Tambling and pick 29. I couldn't imagine any other team doing that much better.

Just curious, does anyone know what Tambling salary is at the Tiger's

Our second rounder is pretty low though (41). Don't think that'll get it done.

Maybe 23 + 41 + Blake to Richmond for Tambling + 29.

Both players are contracted so there might need to be compromises made.

I'd much prefer - 23 + 41 to Richmond for Tambling.

Surely GC would want Blake.

The tigers dont have to have Blake and i'm sure the less we give the happier we will be

Whatever makes you happy.
We wouldn't trade our 2nd round pick along with Tambling.

Pick 23 and pick 41 for Tambling, i'd still take that, unless Well's has something up his sleeve.

Tambling would go well at the Cats if he could get over injuries. The morons on Trade Radio said he is the same playing as Djukerra and plays a small forward.....UMMM NO!

The guy is a HBF...and a good one when up and running.

pick 23 and blake would do it for mine - tambling will go well for the cats with the likes of selwood, chapman, corey, enright, bartel etc to guide him.

I know some cats fans would be thinking that the blake part would mean they are over-paying - but it does appear that RT is in quite a bit of demand with 5 clubs putting forward a "What if" trade for him

surely you guys need pick 41 more than you need blake these days? You guys really need more youth into the side - you wouldn't want to **** youselves out of the draft with no pick under 50 - surely?

Could be leaving the Tigers. An untapped talent who given the right development/coaching/enviroment could still turn out to be the gun they all thought he would be. Given that we need speed in our midfield...any takers?

No thanks, just wouldn't fit.

P23 & P41 is too much.
To not have a pick till late 50's one might as well not got to draft day.
Tambling is worth more than Blake but not that much more. He is player who is worth a second shot but he is a failed early pick , I wouldn't pay overs him.
His best is an exciting version of Varcoe , maybe not better but similar. His worst is like a Varcoe 2 seasons ago , no possessions and no work rate.

Blake & P41. If they can do better elsewhere , then good luck to them.

Where did you hear Ranga was delisted? As far as I know he is gonna be at the Cats in 2011, would have made his debut this year if he wasn't injured.

He was listed under "gone" in the HS post season review thing and a poster, who to my knowledge has no background in making stuff up, confirmed it on another thread.

I think the best trade that has been suggested was pick 23, 41 and Blake for Tambling and pick 29. I think that would be best.
Personally I want Tambling as he add's extra pace to our midfield and can rotate with Varcoe playing in the middle and on a flank.

Also I would prefer to take Tambling who is still young at 24 and will settle straight into our team then try and blood up another player. We have some good players coming through already, what we need to to strengthen our best 22, we are still finals contenders so we may as well trade like that.

I can see where you coming from but IMO , Tambling to me is not an immediate lock for our best 18. Its not like we are getting Goddard etc. He POTENTIALLY could be be far more than we are likely to pay. He could also but no better than Christensen or Motlop etc. and become another 20-30 player. We must not over pay.

This would not surprise.

As I have said before, I don't think Hardwick would "want" Blake as he'd demand the no1 ruck which is a problem when you're pursuing a youth policy.

But having said that, he has a pickle in that they only have 3 ruckmen on their list, one of whom the tigers fans don't rate (browne) so they really need at least one more ruckman, and preferably one who can take the physical load off vickery, so relucantly they may take Blake (or maybe that's just me hoping :D).

Anyway obviously a straight swap of Tambling for Blake wouldn't be fair, but if we chucked in a later pick or two then maybe.

On Tambling, I'll back Wells if he's prepared to trade 23 away, he knows whether drafts are good or not, so as you say, if he's trading out, as he seldom does, I'll back him. And we do really need pace, I just would want a thorough check from Bradshaw to see that he thinks he can manage the compartment syndrome that Tambling reportedly has.

This would surprise me. Zero chance of a straight swap.
Don't think Blake is much chop and doesn't seem that team orientated.
I'd prefer Angus Graham and he's no superstar.
Richmonds premiership window is obviously not open, so why delay the development
of our 3 rucks like you said. We'll draft another ruck with a late pick.
Browne is rated (don't know where you got that from), he's still learning the caper. An old school ruckman, will be handy backup, not a starting ruckman.

i think richmond would be better of with 23+41 for bling
cant see how blake would be of benefit to the tigers vickery coming on with graham as the main ruck would be preffered.

just a question , i have only read the pick 41 included here ! where did it get mentioned first

really wanted to see ranga.
can't win them all.

maybe re-rookied?

According to Tambling's manager, Ricky Nixon, he's all but guaranteed to be traded to the Crows tomorrow for their Bock Compo pick which will be late 20's or thereabouts.

The Cats have actually denied any real interest in Tambling, which makes me think their interest has been exaggerated. This rumor was indeed started by Hutchy, who also stated a few days ago via his Twitter account that Bomber Thompson was going to fulfill his last year of his contract...he must have been the only bloke in Australia who actually thought bomber was going to go on after the whole burnout thing.

After this last week or so he has lost all credibility with me. Don't know who we'll target as Wells never mentioned he was looking for a ruck, he just mentioned a speedy mid and a KPD. Think they're resigned to keeping Blake as they know nobody wants his services no matter how much they need a ruckman. Will be interesting to see how the week unfolds for us but I don't think we'll be as active as most people think
