Just a few months after the passing of Troy Selwood, it has been announced that his twin brother, Adam, has also passed. Vale, gone too young.

two sons dying in a year is beyond ****ed. feel bad for the parents. i don't know how i'd be able to go on if my (hypothetical) kids died before me.

feel for all of them. can't imagine how hard it is right now

Just found out the devastating news now.

Close to tears, another young former footballer taken way too soon

I cannot imagine the utter devestation and grief the Selwood family are going though.

Wish there was something I could or say to console the Selwood family but there isn't

Breaks my heart thinking about his wife and children..

I am crying right now. I have had a very rough and stressful work (major conflict with my only sibling) which really rattled me and this news is a major kick to the guts.

The whole AFL community past and present players and even us flogs on the Bay is one big family to me.

When we lose one of our own, especially young men taken away too soon, like Adam and Troy Selwood, it really cuts deep and affects us all.

Folks, remember it is okay to cry and reach out for assistance. There is nothing unmanly about crying and asking for help at all.

You are never alone with your suffering/pain..

I know it only broke in the last hour or so but it's odd that there was no pre-game acknowledgement or tribute before this game, particularly given Scott Selwood is an assistant coach for Collingwood.

Oh man, how can Scott possibly be working today on such another unimaginable tragic day for his family (although some people need work to help forget their grief, albeit temporary)

I doubt he's there

think ABC said that he wasn’t there, most likely.

Awful shocking news.

Let's not speculate on the circumstances here, but here's a link if you need it.

Scott has been given leave by the Magpies.

Absolutely horrific news for the Selwoods, their children, the Eagles and their fans and everyone said else in the footy world.

Losing a family member is hard. Losing two in short order is inconceivable and losing twins is another level beyond that.

He was going to run a half marathon in support of mental health next weekend.

Adam and Troy were remarkably kind and helpful humans - their invisible burdens insurmountable.

May they rest peacefully.

Terrible news, made even more tragic with his twin brother's death just a few months ago.

It's rattled me so I can't imagine how much harder it would be for his family to deal with it.

There will probably be some sort of tribute to him before the West Coast v St Kilda game with him being an ex-West Coast player.

said on the broadcast that there will be.

He was granted personal leave

This is so ****ing sad. I can’t imagine the pain of losing 1 of your family members to this, let alone 2. Absolutely horrible.
I have a 5-year-old son who is the absolute light of my life. I think I'd just about jump off a cliff if anything ever happened to him.

No one should have to bury their own child, let alone two of them :sob:
